Awesome Product! You don't realize that products like Carmex which have petroleum in it as one of it's primary ingredients are pretty much crack for your lips, they provide a little bit of relief but god forbid you don't apply it couple times a day or your lips will feel like the Sahara Desert. I use this stuff 2x day max, does not matter if I eat or drink after it, it just stays and there is no need to reapply. This stuff is also one of the very few products that do not contain beeswax which for some reason i just developed an allergy to.

Not what i hoped for but its ok
I have to say, I was very excited about trying this because it was made by pharmacists and it was vegan. Plus, it wasn't petroleum based like most of the lip balms out there. I was quite disappointed though. Like other balms, this one made my lips peel. I can't find a balm that doesnt do that. What i do like is that it doesn't have that slimy, greasy feel that typical balms do.

Happy lips!
I reviewed the medicated version of this with hydrocortisone that I found while taking accutane. I ordered the original lip balm as well because most dermatologists will advise against using topical steroids for much more than two weeks at a time, and I must say, I am so glad I got this one as well! I actually use this one more than the medicated version to limit my use of a topical steroid. I have been extremely impressed with Lipster because it provides a barrier for my lips, as any good lip balm should, but it also moisturizes. I have used other lip balms that are petrolatum based, and while those provide a good barrier, none of the many many lip balms I have tried provide as much moisture as Lipster. When I first started accutane, I thought that I would only be able to use lip balms that came in a squeeze tube rather than a stick form like this one, but I found that some stick formulas like Lipster actually go on so smoothly and softly that it doesn't bother my lips at all.Just like the medicated version, this does not have any irritating ingredients like menthol, peppermint, camphor, etc... which is super important to me now. This does have cocoa seed butter, which gives it very very subtle pleasant scent, but only when I sniff the stick, and it has no flavor, which is great. If you are going to spend the day in the sun, you might want to apply a lip balm with good SPF protection before applying this, my favorite is Banana Boat Sport lip balm.I already got my significant other hooked on the original Lipster just like me, and we will never go back to a different lip balm. Anyone I know that is struggling with dry lips, I will tell them about Lipster, because I cannot recommend this enough!

Good quality lip-balm without the bitterness
I tried both this version and the medicated (hydrocortizone 1% version). I certainly prefer the non-medicated one! While the medicated formula doesn't have the same sour stink that Dr. Dan's does, it still isn't very pleasant if it gets in the mouth during eating or drinking...that said, it's been helpful if I've had a particularly irritated lip (which hasn't happened much since I've been using the non-medicated!)This chapstick is thick, but for medically induced lip dryness, it's great. Portable, and tends to stay on my lips much much longer. Have and will continue to order more.
