Perfect for backpacking in warmer areas which sporadic rain
Fantastic for backpacking in the rain. Keeps you dry plus it breathes.Often, while rain pants may keep the rain out, they end up causing you to sweat so much that you are just a wet from the sweat. The kilt keeps you dry, but allows plenty of "breathing"Easy to get on and off without removing boots. Can even be pulled/folded up around your waist for those on-again/off-again rain showers. In fact it was so quick, easy, and comfortable, I used it more often than my fellow hikers who had to decide if the rain was hard enough to warrant the hassles of changing into rain paints.I pair the kilt with waterproof gators to keep the rain out of the tops of my boots.Fabric is a tad heavy, but the durability makes this an excellent temporary ground sheet for gear or a sitting pad when not being worn(hey multi-purpose gear)Only thing this kilt is missing is a zipper or velco on the single pocket, okay maybe a second pocket for my other hand as well.Used this at Philmont and Yellowstone. At first it got a look or tow from the younger boys about a guy wearing a kilt, but once they sawhow easy it came on an off and how i was comfortable wearing it, they too went and ordered one for themselves.

Love this!
The only thing I don't like about riding my Vespa in the rain is wearing rain pants...I love my new rain kilt! It keeps the rain out without feeling hot and sweaty and the material is heavy enough that it doesn't fly up, even at freeway speed. It's actually better looking in person. It almost looks like a leather skirt and I didn't realize it has a pocket. I am glad I got the long one. Riding on a scooter it covers the top of my tall boots well enough that no rain gets in. The shorter one would not be long enough. It is a generous size. I am not a small woman but it fits comfortably over multiple layers.

Packs easily, simple to put on and effectively blocks the rain without restricting movement. Also works well as a wind block over lighter pants on those cold, breezy days.
