Two Stars
It was cute, but too cute. It could work in the right little kids room.

A 5-Star Chandelier That Doesn't Deserve All 5 Stars!!
I have written a number of Amazon reviews -- as I generally am a satisfied customer and like to give praise when praise is due. I also have occasionally (not too often) given "lesser-star" reviews when products have not lived up to advertised statements or reasonable expectations. I had to think long-and-hard before finally deciding to give this product review 4-Stars. If I was measuring how much I love this chandelier now that it is up, I'd have given it 5-Stars-PLUS!! This is a very striking light and fits wonderfully with our decorative bird-themed family room. Everyone pauses to make positive comments. I can't believe the reaction -- as I have never had so many comments (and head turning) -- over a light fixture. It's remarkable. In one week I've had continual awed reactions over this chandelier -- versus not one mention of the light it replaced (yawn) and there for 26 years.I wish I could give this product and transaction 5-Stars. The installed light looks fantastic. However, getting it to it's beautifully installed state took some time, research and a bit of unexpected shoe leather and gasoline. To explain: Nowhere in the product info is there any mention that this light is NOT made for utilization in the United States. The specs that come WITH the chandelier point out that the two needed bulbs (not included, nor expected with any fixture purchase) need to fit a European (non-US) standard. I could not find any candelabra-size American lights that would fit these two sockets. The 3 local box hardware stores didn't have a clue what to do for this light. I even carried it in with me. One store employee offered up that I should put a small wrapping of aluminum foil around a smaller-based American candelabra bulb -- to force a fit. I was not about to "McGuyver" an electrical fixture. In the end, after numerous trips to hardware stores -- including one that sounds like a Depot and another that goes by a "Lowely" sounding name -- some internet research, several phone calls to hopeful problem-solving sources and, finally, the discovery of a specialty/antique light shop, a solution was found. The shop furnished me with socket conversions that did the trick. The Amazon product literature omission of this being a European fixture requiring "unavailable" European lamps or the need for US conversion bases is too much to ignore when considering a consumer review. If the light didn't end up looking so darn good, I would feel like this buyer rigamarole deserved only one or two stars. However, the investment in time and extra expense really paid off. This light looks GREAT -- especially when you wire in a dimmer switch. This is an excellent item, but one should be told up-front that it is manufactured in China for the European market and will require a buyer to do some extra legwork to make it work.Incidentally, now that I know what solves the problem, I later learned that Amazon actually sells the base conversions. Who knew??? Had I known this when making the product decision, I would have been properly informed and 5-Stars would be appropriate. I think the seller is letting Amazon down, by not disclosing this. I think the seller let me down as a consumer. However, with all that behind me, THIS IS A SUPER LOOKING LIGHT!!! Buyer be informed. I do recommend this fixture though.
