One of my favorite reads of the year-- terrific pitch perfect characters, dialogue and setting!
I have been dying to read this adorable sounding book. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed, and it surpassed every expectation I had. In addition, I am pre-ordering several copies of this book and recommend everyone do so, it's worth it.The Geek's Guide to Unrequited Love (by the way, who does NOT love that title??? Just gives you a hint to what goodies are inside) is an absolutely endearing story of Graham and his undying love for his best friend Roxy. They have grown up together but recently, Graham has realized he has more feelings for her than just friendship. He knows the perfect venue to profess his love to her for the first time-- New York's Comic Con. They are not only best friends but partners in writing and illustrating graphical novels, and they have both been looking forward to this event for ages. But Graham's elaborate schemes go awry the moment they set foot in Comic Con. Will Graham find a way to tell Roxy his feelings? Will they be returned? Will Graham figure out something about himself and relationships in the process?I love love love loved this book. OMG. I literally squealed and hugged the book to my chest after I finished. There is something just so absolutely wonderful about how Tash embraces the geek culture in such a loving way-- and I feel like even people not familiar with this world will be fascinated by it. The characters are so realistic and I wish Graham had a crush on ME growing up, what a fantastic guy. I have to say my favorite side character was Felicia, who I believe also has a big story to tell, so I'm crossing my fingers and toes that she'll get a companion novel all to herself. The details ring true and the book has loads of verisimilitude, and after reading this, I want to go to Comic Con! The idealistic nature of the characters where anything is possible will melt the most hardened cynic, and this makes me believe that maybe one day, if I can get my act together, maybe I too can fulfill a long term dream of publishing a book with a partner in crime. :-)Also take note of all the chapter headings. It's a sweet bundle of Easter eggs for your inner geek that goes along with the whole theme of the book. And the ending... it was the perfect ending to this book, and I'm so glad that Tash decided what she did. I debated whether or not to give away the ARC, but I have to admit, with this book I'm unabashably selfish. I have bought three hard copies for myself and to spread the word to friends with the finished product. You all MUST pick up this book, and it should go at the top of your TBR pile!Overall, one of my favorite reads of the year, with pitch perfect characters, dialogue, and atmosphere, and heart warming plot line that will keep you cheering until the end for the incredibly adorable Graham. Tash is definitely an author to watch and I will pick up every book she writes in the future.

Smitten Smitten Smitten!
I am smitten! Smitten with these characters; smitten with this author; smitten with this book. I can’t really describe it. After reading Tash’s debut, Three Day Summer, I knew I would read anything she wrote. It was such a great story about human interaction at a time that seems so long ago. I loved the characters and the story telling and they heart behind it all. So when I heard about The Geek’s Guide to Unrequited Love it was a given I would read it. What I didn’t expect was how taken I would be by it. It was so fun and real and epic and wondrous. The thing that I loved the most about The Geek’s Guide to Unrequited Love, besides the characters (more on that below), is that it isn’t a coming of age book. It isn’t a book about comic nerds. It isn’t even a true love story/romance. The Geek’s Guide is a book that is real. Things in life don’t always go as planned. You don’t always win the big game, or get into the school of your dreams. You don’t always get the girl or get something you are hoping for. Life just doesn’t work that way. You have to adapt and move on and come up with a new plan or idea. Tash captured that to perfection with Graham’s story. Nothing went the poor kid’s way. Everything that could go wrong for him did, but he just kept on going. Whether he was mad or sad or hurt or happy, he just kept on going like we all have to do.Actually Graham was the one character that made the book for me. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Roxy and co., but Graham was like a red headed Seth Cohen (and let’s face it Seth Cohen made geeky hot). He had this inner dialogue that just killed me. He was quirky and funny and charming. I liked him immediately and he truly made me giggle throughout the book. And his knowledge of pop-culture…OH MY GOD! So epic. Graham was the perfect kind of character to control this kind of story and I kind of love him (and the rest of them).Basically this book was just what I needed to reminded me about the ups and downs of life and love and friendship. Sarvenez crafted a book that is so perfect (sorry Felicia) that I need everyone to read it and be smitten with me. To be honest I knew I would love it after Three Day Summer, but I didn’t know I would end up being as over the moon about it as I was. If Tash’s books are not on your radar you need to fix that immediately. She is one author that is doing great, great things. Now go and read her books!

Excelente historia sobre amores no correspondidos
Sarvenaz Tash se ha unido a mi lista de autores favoritos. Este libro es una historia única, divertida, y con mucho corazón. Los personajes son adorables y muy fácil de relacionar, especialmente Graham. ¡Simplemente me enamoré!
