I love this light. In fact I bought another one. It has a fatal flaw, however. The end of the middle stem where the light bulb part attaches to the stem is made of plastic. If you drop this light it will likely break the adjoining joint. Once broken it cannot be fixed. However, my resolution to this was to wrap electric tape around the male part of the broken joint and then squeeze and push it back into the female end of the middle stem. It originally fell from my desk because the clamp that attaches the whole thing to the desk is too shallow. That is, it needs to be made an inch or two longer to better grip the desk or table. I had to put pieces of wood inside the clamp to give it a better grip. The weak grip induces falls off the table. If the joint breaks in a bad way the light will be useless because the light bulb part will just dangle from the stem. All else with the light works great. For an improvement, the light bulb part should be made to swivel from left to right. It only goes up and down. You can use this as a web cam arm, but it does not swivel from left to right limiting it's usefulness. If you just want to tape the web cam onto the top of the light straight in front of you it does hold the web cam and extends way up high if need be.

Bottom line: this light seems to do the job I want it to do, but not perfectly....This light provides adjustability with its spring-loaded arms that should work for almost any situation. The arms have a thumb-wheel which is intended to lock them into your preferred position. But I found the arms have a mind of their own: even with the thumb wheels as tight as I could make then, the arms wanted to go to a position of their own choosing. Oh well, I got close enough to optimal to make it work.The light features nine (!) illumination settings: three in cool white, three in yellowish, and three in combined. So you should be able to find a setting that you like. But one of my quibbles with the product is the way you set the illumination level: by repeated presses of the single push button. To be fair, if you only want to toggle between your favorite setting and "off", you can do that: the lamp turns off from any setting with a long press. And the light remembers your last setting, so it turns on again where you left it.Finally, the clamp is not the best. Actually, the light comes with two clamps, each offering slightly different means of attaching it to the desk top. But both are plastic, hence not ready to be really screwed down with force. That said, my light has stayed put with the careful amount of torque I used.

After doing lots of searching, I think I have found the best bang for your buck desk lamp. This lamp is highly adjustable; you can pivot each of the hinges to suit your needs. In addition, there are 3 different color temperatures with 3 brightness settings each. I love this feature because it allows me to have a bright white light when I'm doing work during the day, and a more warm yellow light at night when I'm relaxing. The light quality is nice and even and the LEDs are max brightness are perfect for reading and drafting. The are a few reasons why it didn't get 5 stars but these are minor points given the price point:- the base of the lamp is secure but the lamp itself is somewhat wobbly as it sits in the base. Not a big deal for me because I'm not swiveling the lamp often but if you move it around a lot, you might get annoyed.- you turn the lamp off by holding down the touch sensitive light for a few seconds. This can be kind of tedious. It would be nice if there was a separate off switch, or if touching the button turned the light on as well as off. If the lamp is on and you touch the button, you cycle through color temps and brightness settings - fyi (for those reviewers who don't seem to understand this feature)But really this lamp is as good as it gets for $37, which is the price I bought it for. Highly recommended!

Pros: 3 different brightness settings in 3 different shades of light (bright white, daylight, soft white) for a total of 9 different light settings...No other pros. Oh wait, LED's are energy efficient and last a long time. So I guess that's two good things.Cons: The springs are loose on bottom arm and tight on the top arm, giving this a decidedly awkward movement when you try to set it where you need it. Also, the neck joint is loose - the light will tilt at the slightest touch.Overall construction is cheap - low gauge metal. Does not feel solid at all.Plastic base has enough clamping force to keep it in place, but not much more. I'm afraid it will break.Those nine different light settings are cycled through with a touch button - no click, no nothing. Touch it and it toggles to the next setting. Accidentally touch it or brush it lightly and it toggles to the next setting. If you have it on bright light, you can easily accidentally switch it to the next setting (VERY dim) when reaching for a tool.None of the nine settings is off. In order to turn it off, you have to touch the button constantly for a couple seconds.Although the brightest setting is adequate, it does not cast a large enough radius to light my entire 2'x4' workbench from it's highest position.Summary: This is a decent cheap light that I intend to replace when I have the motivation and time to find a better alternative. It will get the job done in the meantime. I can't recommend buying it.

The tightening screw for the lamp head is poorly designed. Impossible to get it to hold a desired position

Took until my second shipment to get a working product, but is a great item. The actual lamp head is small, but has 9 shades of light as advertised and covers a wide area.
