The perfect concoction for a weekend read!
This third installment of the Riley Paige Mystery series was such a breath of fresh air for me. So often, by the time you get to the third book of a series, the writing has become repetitive and the characters are stale. The story is either unoriginal or perhaps is starting to feel too drawn-out and the reader just gets bored. This happens all the time, but *not* with Once Craved. In this story, Riley is off and running on a new case, but really concerned about what is happening at home. It's clear that her daughter is struggling with the aftermath of having gotten caught up in Riley's last case. Riley's current case shows her some of the darkest dangers facing teen girls, and that those who have already been victimized somehow are particularly at risk. Every moment of the case makes Riley think about her daughter at home and all she is dealing with. Never has she been so torn between work and home.At the same time that we have the case going on, and the worries about her daughter and the typical teenager/parent dynamics that spice up every family, there is also a potential romantic interest developing. The result is that here we have the perfect concoction of new story elements, character development, and existing situation enrichment. I continue to be so excited about Riley Paige Mysteries and am eager to begin the next book as soon as possible!

Very Little to Offer the Reader
Not particularly riveting. I found the lead character Riley Paige too unstable. I don't think she would last long on any real FBI squad. And the plot was very predictable -- Riley and her partner hop from one crime scene to the next, coming up empty, until a weird inmate a continent away tells her "she's getting warm," which cracks the whole case open. I dunno: there's just a lot of stuff in this book that doesn't work, plot-wise, character-wise, setting-wise and so on. The book lacks depth, suspense and reader satisfaction. It's my first and probably my last Blake Pierce book.

Fast moving, Once Craved by, Blake Pierce. Ms. Pierce will become a house hold name in mystery writings.
Once Craved by Blake Pierce is a good read. I had not finished the first chapter and I knew I would enjoy her writing. Riley Page, an FBI agent, has been on leave because she had just completed a mission in which Riley and her daughter, April, had nearly died. Riley is called into headquarters by her boss Meredith, that wants her and fellow agent, Bill Jeffreys, to help in the investigation of a murdered prostitute in Phoenix, Arizona. When Riley asked why the two of them should go to Phoenix, she was told it was at the request of Phoenix agent in charge. The victim was his sister! Thus begins an investigation that dumbfounds the both of them. It is during this investigation, that Riley's daughter goes with her class for a weeks tour of Washington D.C. While in D.C. , April suffers from a PDS! Against Phoenix's agent in charge, Riley flies home to assist her daughter in seeking treatment. These murders of prostitutes continue. They are killed and then placed into plastic bags and dumped in the local areas lakes. Riley continues to worry about her daughter while she and Jeffreys try to figure out who is this strange killer? Riley begins to draw up a an profile of what she believes this killer is like. She has been helped by her estranged father and in inmate from a prison in New York. It is nearly at the end of "Once Craved", that you just might know who this dangerous killer is! Then again may be not! Rated G. Very little strong language and sexual descriptions. DP. Murder, Prostitution, Motherhood and the Job
Riley has been on leave, teaching at Quantico when her boss wants her back in the field. After some reluctance she goes to Arizona into the world of prostitution and some of the ugliest things she has dealt with in her career. The characters are well written and the plot has some twists and turns, but I personally wasn’t as drawn into this one as much as the two preceding books in this series. For me, the killer was easily identifiable but, one other person was weird. I had to finish the last 10% of the book to know for certain.

Hookers Get Snookered
This was the third novel in the Riley Paige series of mysteries by Blake Pierson. In this novel several murders of local prostitutes troubled local law enforcement to the point that they sought assistance from the FBI. Enter Riley Paige at the request of her long-time partner, Agent Bill Jeffreys. The crimes are heinous and illustrate new and different ways to rid society of unsavory characters, in this case, Hookers. To Riley and Bill it makes no difference how unsavory the victims, they searched for the perpetrators until they themselves nearly fell victim to complete exhaustion. The mysteries get solved but the interesting part is the character development. That's all I will say - don't want to ruin the story for everyone else.

Riley PaigeMysteries are Phenomenal!
Blake Pierce does an excellent job with the Riley Paige series and I have already downloaded the next two books in the series for my kindle to read. A couple of crimes are solved in this story with Riley trying to go undercover in a realm of prostitutes to find a serial killer. Even though she doesn't succeed in going undercover, she is able to track down the killer. I'll let you uncover the other crime for yourself. A very great writer in his own right. I enjoyed this Riley Paige book just as well as the first ones I have had the opportunity to read. Don't pass this one up. It is excellenet!

Page Turner
The storyline somewhat continues from the previous book, but the author gives background so that you don't need to read it. This book can stand alone. The story continues on the hunt for a deranged killer with some twists to keep you on your toes. Glad that I discovered Blake Pierce's books.

Once craved
I highly recommend the Riley Paige series book. What I loved was the pilot to all we go though in life, how we sometimes take things for granted while others are in so much suffering, make you think of who you can trust and why do things happen around you . Once you start with # 1 your hooked . Enjoy

Excellent again!
The first book a free download, it's a good feeling when you stumble upon a series of books and an author so good! I had no problem buying the second and this the third. Since the first, Blake Pierce seems to of gotten better as a writer and a story teller. The second was better than the first and this is the best yet. This third book's story was interesting, page turning, engaging, enjoyable, everything I want In a book. Cant wait to read the fourth. Blake's ability to tell us how strong Riley is at work and as a person generally but at the same time tell us how damaged and vulnerable she in outside of work and her life away from the FBI is fantastic and you generally feel worried for Riley, as it's a matter of when, not if, she snaps and things go bad for her and April. Looking forward to the next in series!

A good sequel
Book 3 in this series and the story line lives up to its promise. I must admit that I was almost at the page that identified the killer before I sussed it.After 3 Riley Paige stories on the trot, I'm taking break. As good as the storyline was, I find it hard reading stories with so many spelling and grammatical mistakes. I may continue with series, I may not.

Yet another brilliant story
Riley, recovering from a previous case, finds it difficult to accept another one. Apart from her own memories of the horrific case, her daughter April who was also involved, has PTSD, so this is another concern. However she is called in to investigate the disapperance of a colleague's sister. Very soon a number of bodies is discovered and a tortuous plot unwinds, with almost tragic results for Riley and her partner Bill. Great story. Well up to previous book standards. Now for book 4

Potential to be a great read, but a few annoying little things
The books has the potential to be great, however for those who have read the series it's very annoying to keep having to read that Riley and April were captured by Peterson blah blah blah. It's frustrating for those who know the storyline to have to keep reading what we know. Also in this book, amongst a number of errors the Dr's name changes to Dr Poole at the end for a couple of chapters and then back to Goody.
