I loved this Velociraptor and am proud to have one
I loved this Velociraptor and am proud to have one! I give it 5 stars. The folded design is amazing, the many folded flat planes make up the overall round shape of a living animal - and one with motion and activity, dynamic, very exciting! I had an excellent time assembling it. As I worked, I thought about a parent working with a child assembling this dinosaur. Depending on the child's age and where the adult waits and watches and where the adult offers assistance. This is your call, but it is all do-able. The designer has done a fine job of showing and explaining how to fold the pieces, and YouTube has an excellent video on putting the pieces together. I was fine with the booklet and video, but for younger children, to give them a little more assist, I would offer these recommends:1. Explain the diagrams at the beginning. In the black and white instruction booklet, at the beginning of attaching one part to another, explain what the diagram shading means: white, black and grey.2. Diagram a very simple attachment as an example - the X tab letter on the piece in your left hand will attach to the Y tab letter in your right hand. No matter how many folds you have on any piece, as long as you understand where to begin - with what tabs - when joining those two pieces, the remaining folds and attachments fall into place. With that knowledge, the shading in the diagrams really makes sense. Then you go on to attach the next two pieces.I am dazzled by the designer/engineer of these fabulous folded Kit-Rex dinosaurs, the creativity and originality in each one, there are now 3 and more to come. When a project - like life - appears to be overwhelming, do not give up - rather, chunk it down into baby steps, into simple elements and re-build a little at a time. That in itself is an amazing experience. As I worked thru my Velociraptor assembly, I kept thinking about a child's awe and amazement in discovering and accomplishing each step, culminating in this oh so cool happy, running like crazy Velociraptor!

He is a puzzle master so we thought a 3D puzzle would be cool. It's not a 3D puzzle and it's not ...
Awful instructions and my kid's eyes just glazed over. Avoid at all costs. We will never finish this. He is a puzzle master so we thought a 3D puzzle would be cool. It's not a 3D puzzle and it's not cool.
