TurboTax Home and Business 2016, [Old Version] PC/Mac, Traditional Disc Office Binder (428967)

We have used TurboTax for many years and been satisfied. This year, it is a disaster, and will be the last time I buy TurboTax. It imported from last year as usual, but locked onto the previous year's state tax refund as income, and picked one charitable contribution from last year as a deduction, and locked that into its system as the only entries for calculating this year's taxes. The screens would allow me to enter items from this year, sales income, deductions etc, but not a single new entry was used for calculations or showed up in the summary. I spent 8 hours on the phone or waiting for call backs, did repeated uninstalls and reinstalls, including direct downloads. Tried it on a different computer - all did the same thing. Now I am told that Tech support, which has been supposed to be calling back over the last 3 hours, is not available till tomorrow. So 8 hours of accomplishing nothing.I will be hoping the refund process goes better (I am not hopeful after today's experience that tech support will be any more helpful). And I will be looking at alternatives like H & R block - see if they can successfully import values. Can't be any worse than TurboTax

I love Turbotax and got it cheaper on here than at Costco! Last year, I ran my taxes on Turbotax and then took it to a CPA to see if there was any difference. There wasn't and then I was out another $250 :( I will always use Turbotax moving forward!

The TurboTax Home and Business has two serious problems that they should fix. (1) The schedule D MUST have form 8949 attached in many cases. It is the only place to show the IRS what stocks were sold, and the date purchased. Without this you are sure to get called in. the IRS will change all long term gains/losses to short term until you provide it. Form 8949 is not even available on their program. ( It can be googled on the net and added to the mail in return). (2) There is no direct path in the K-1 section which would allow users to enter the two numbers from form 1065.(Partners Share of Income, Deductions, credits etc) . They even want users to provide a ridiculous pass word half way through their instructions, which they wont accept. It took me three days to enter two numbers! Also, this Home and Business program is clobbered up with foolish work sheets that prevent you from inserting numbers directly into the 1040 with our "over ride"!

Came on time. However, seal on CD case had been opened. This was not a brand new item. Previously used. It did not affect the installation, but I don't like being mislead, But the price was ok.

The disc would not load! Called Turbo Tax help desk and the sent me a download which did fine. I had used the previous disc versions the past 2 years and been very pleased with the ease and helpfulness. I would recommend this; just be sure the disc loads! I expect to use next years version as well.

I have found TurboTax Home & Business to take care of my tax filing needs to the smallest detail. And I have confidence in the way the program asks questions and completes the forms in an extremely orderly way. Then, for just a little more, the company backs its product by contracting to take up any challenge to my data by the Internal Revenue Service.

take your time,do it your self ,you will save money, and learn what you can and can not do, I recommend Quicken, for every day, I have two small business a rental ,stocks,and my personal and TurboTax and Quickens is all you will need, I have been using them 10 years PS: check out your bank downloads.{ the first time I used TurboTax it took me a week ,about 20 hours I read every thing ,now I can do them in 30min}

I've used TT since the mid to late 90's...over the last few years it has degraded...this years product was terrible....it did not auto save, it did not import properly...esp depreciation and charitable contributions, and its error checking was fallible...gotta use something different next year...any suggestions? Do not use...their help desk tried but were not able to solve my problems.
