A Fun and Useful Guide, Certainly Quirky
Living on the East Coast, I really don't know the first thing about Seattle. I picked this guide up because my husband and I are attending a wedding in Seattle in June and I thought it would be a great introduction to the city.Well, I was right. Engaging and friendly, Our Quirky Guide to Seattle was a pleasure to read, and full of interesting destinations which I'll definitely take the time to visit.I thought the section on food, wine and beer was particularly strong (being an enthusiastic foodie, it was my first port of call in the guide). Offering fun and comprehensive descriptions of both inexpensive and more pricey eateries, it has something for everyone, and I'll certainly be visiting a few!I agree with the reviewer who said the guide occasionally went off topic; I felt the running section of the guide could have focused more on evaluating the potential of the various running tracks and less on where to buy running shoes. Ditto with the motorcycle tracks; I'd have liked more information on the tracks themselves and less about what I should bring. I rather enjoyed the Seattle Style Outdoors Survival Kit though! The guide definitely had its weaker points. The section on what to do indoors with your cat was completely out of the blue, and the section on online shopping had nothing to do with Seattle... but that's a fairly minor point in an overall interesting read.Overall, I enjoyed the tone and variety of the guide, and although I am a stranger to Seattle, I felt that even locals could get something out of it - I hope I have time to check out some of the farmer's markets when I visit!

Good, here is a General overview
With Zagat (now Google) and Yelp out there, what is Amazon to do?This guide is a decent start, main sections:1. Eating Out (Bakeries, Outdoor dining, Cheap Eats, Splurge, Late Night, ... )2. Local Wine and Beer (Breweries, Wine bars, Wineries)3. Farmer's markets4. Arts (Classical music, Visual arts, Art Walks, Museums, ...)5. Theatre6. Music (Shopping for music, Venues and Fests, Music news)7. Sports (Seattle Mariners, Seattle Sounders)8. Outdoors (Skiing, Scuba, Sailing, Running, Biking, Motorcycling)9. Major attractions10. Adventures11. Kids Activities12. Pets13. Only in Seattle (Conventions, NW Folklife Fest, Driving in Seattle)14. Shopping (Queen Anne, University district, Capitol Hill, Online)Oddly, though, there is no map. In addition, the icons that are used (for the Washington state outline, eco-friendly symbol, and vegetarian-friendly) all look blocky and pixelated. This is a common problem for math formulas in Kindle versions, but there are ways to show these items cleanly on the Kindle. Also, I noticed a few typos, such as "skiiing" and "noise-canceling".In the middle of the book, there is a long interview with a glass artist that is a good read, but still seems out of place for a book.Overall, recommended.

A good overview. Quirky. Has a few errors.

Can't wait for my trip!
I got this e-book manly for the price, and because I have always romanticized Seattle a bit in my mind and wanted to go there for quite a while (blame my love for the 90's/grunge era/moody gen-X vibe I have always associated with the city).... While I KNOW it is not 1992 any more and the city is quite a different place now, it was still on my bucket list of places to go.Happily, this year I will be taking my first trip there, and I can't wait to visit many of the places suggested in this well organized entertaining book!

Any book that highlights the best of Seattle is going to be a delight
Seattle is my favorite city in the world. I'm thrilled to have a Kindle book that tells me where the locals love to spend their time. Compiled by 40 or so people who love to live in Seattle, a lot of stones are turned over for the reader to review. This book is way too much fun. Especially the location of the giant concrete troll under the bridge for those photo ops you need for your blog - yes! Stick your head up the nostril of the troll and have your friends send your pic from their phone. It's an easy, quick, worthwhile read. I'm looking forward to eating at all the foodie spots listed. I'm looking forward also to viewing all the art stops and visiting all the music venues. Seattle is much more than just a place to enjoy a continual rain festival ;=>.

Our Quirky Guide to Seattle
This is a well considered guide to Seattle. It is researched well, and the information is easily accessible. It has all the little places you would want to see, most of the places you know about, and quite a few only a local would know. It is a fun and quirky little guide as the title suggests.

Made me want to get up and go
I'm visiting family in Canada in November and toyed with the idea of trying to wangle in a day, or two, trip to Seattle. With a very young child in tow, I doubt it'll happen however since I had already started to read this guide, my appetite was whetted so I decided to carry on.The book is written with humour, insight and passion, something some travel books can miss, providing you only with the basic, and sometimes boring, facts. The book presented the city as exciting and different and one day I hope I'll make it there to sample some of the sights and wonderful eateries!

Very definitely Quirky
Definitely Quirky, not a consistent guide book, best for someone going to live there rather than just visit.Lots of details of restuarants but the rest is by various local authors and is inconsistent in content and style.

What a great guide
Highly recommended especially if you want to get away from the major tourist attractions. Lots of local knowledge, covers so much different subjects, particularly music & the arts, . Lots of food ideas too. Great insight into what real people do. Can't wait to visit now but only have 2 days

Short but free so who cares!
Great read if you're going to Seattle. It sounds rude and ungrateful but I'd be annoyed if I'd paid £5 or something for this as it is really short and not always that professionally written but the info it has is valuable and really interesting.
