I'm feeling pretty good about the purchase
Foreward: I have yet to install this unit. I won't be "ready" for it for about another month. I have opened it and inspected it, tested it, etc.I'm feeling pretty good about the purchase. Most of the range hoods in this price range have really shoddy reviews but I decided to take a gamble on this one. At the time I ordered it only had 3 reviews. In doing research I'm about 95% sure this is nearly identical to a ~$750 range hood from a well-respected manufacturer with near flawless reviews. That largely contributed to my gamble. It moves a lot of air, of course the specs tell you that. It's very well built. The stainless is a bit thicker than I was expected so it has a very solid feel. There was a screw floating around inside of it when I unpackaged it...I couldn't find anywhere it was supposed to go so I'm not worrying about it. It has no rattles or anything (the base hood itself) so with a good installation I suspect I'll only hear the noise of the moving air.I cannot wait to get this thing installed. I'll be sure to update this once I do with some pics, and then give some feedback a few months into using it. It was a pretty significant decision for me on this one even though in the grand scheme of the massive kitchen remodel I'm doing it's small fish money-wise, it's something I wanted/needed to get right the first time and I think I have. We'll see.

High quality, low cost, professional look
We installed this hood and couldn't be happier with it. It is heavy duty construction and was a challenge to lift and install. But the benefit is that it looks good above my heavy duty stainless steel commercial range. Fan is relatively quiet on speed 1. And that's what we use most of the time. But for bacon or fish speed 4 is great. House doesn't smell like food. We vented it to the outside - can't imagine using a fan of this type to vent inside. It would be wasted.

My wife and I just remodeled our kitchen, and decided on this for our hood. Something I was very conscious of was the noise level when running. For anyone that's had to yell at their company while cooking you know what I'm talking about. We fully installed the unit, and I have to say I couldn't be more happy. Definitely a solid purchase middle of the road price top of the line preformace.

The hood looks great installed; however, the two strongest settings don't work and the lights don't turn on.
