Spectrum Complete Learning + Videos 3rd Grade Workbooks, Language Arts, Reading Comprehension, Writing, and Math Book for Kids Ages 8-9 With Video Tutorials (Volume 68)

We bought this to work with our child during summer break. Kids tend to loose the curriculum they learn during the summer, and we assign them/work with them a couple pages a day, and it has worked wonderfully. Our children were essentially able to master the next grade years curriculum by the start of the new school year. This brand of books seems to match school textbooks/curriculum as close as possible from all the different brands of books we have purchased. They are well written and follow a natural progression of the subjects, building from the beginning of the school year, advancing to more advanced subject at the end of the grade level. We have made it a tradition to buy the next grade level books every summer, resulting in being more than prepared for class at the start of the year. They also are great for enrichment during the school year on subjects that the student needs a little extra help with. We buy every year.

Sections include helpful definitions and explanations. There is a QR code that you scan with your smart device. The code takes you to a short, engaging video explaining the activity to be completed. The video moves pieces, makes difficult concepts come to life so students can see how they work. The introductions can be done together with an adult or independently as review. The photos are color and high quality. The quality you for would expect (or better) for the price. Pages are perforated so they can easily be removed or kept in the book depending on preference or need. So many concepts are covered too. Anything you could need for grade 3!

I normally make my own curriculum, but we have moved to a smaller space so having 2 subjects in one workbook is very helpful. I like that you can scan a QR code for extra help videos, although we really haven't needed to watch them so far. I scanned a couple just to see what the videos were like and they are short and simple, which is good for an easily distracted 3rd grader. I'm not sure if this will last they whole year, especially since we do year round schooling. I am more concerned about the reading/laguage arts section as it seems to have much less work than the math section. I do really wish there was a test/quiz/review at the end of each chapter. I am thinking I will have to make my own since I normally only give actual grades for tests and just make him correct any wrong answers for daily work. Other then that I am satified with this and it's much more affrdable than many other curriculum. I have recommended this for other homeschool friends/family member and will likely continue to use these books.

As a parent and teacher who is looking to make sure my daughter is continuing to learn throughout the summer, I am happy to have been provided this resource. Some highlights of this book that make it stand out compared to other "workbooks" are the QR codes videos, chapter introductions for parents, and it covering numerous subjects in one book. The videos are short (2-3 minutes) which is perfect for a quick review of the skill before my daughter works on the pages. This workbook will help my daughter be ready for 3rd grade in all subjects!

This Product is great for summer learning. To the eye it looks like just a work book but it is filled with so much more. I really appreciate the videos that are included with the QR Code. My child loves to use their iPad to scan the code to get to the video. Including technology is so important for kids as it is hands on and helps to deepen their understanding and as a parent I do not always know the strategies they are teaching kids now.

This product is an excellent resource to supplement required curriculum. It provides extra practice for your student(s). Spectrum Complete Learning provides multiple resources in one book to enhance student learning. It is a great resource for students who need to be encouraged or might need the extra practice in a specific topic or content area.

This book is great for when my 8 year old states she's bored. Help her to stay ahead of the learning curve

This is great! Very simple pages. Not a lot of extras graphics and such. Layout is a little confusing but can figure it out. I like the video options as well. We look forward to using full time next school year.
