Should I get the dots or the squares?

I prefer the squares because they are less expensive, bigger, and has a much stronger adhesive. However both measure temperature and give feedback measurements showing how stress and relaxation affect you.

Will these give accurate readings on my palm or back of hand or elsewhere or does it have to be fingertip only?

Absolutely! I would not put it on the palm as it would easily fall off. However the area between the base of the thumb and forefinger is another great spot because it is highly visible and is less likely to get bumped off.

what is diameter of dot?

They are a 1/4 inch--or about the size of a pencil eraser. :)
