It rests up against the bottom legs, there is no support there at all. The neck mechanism is one metal pin resting on a plastic hook. I believe this is the biggest weakness and after a while will fail. As these things usually happen in the middle of the night when you're fast asleep and you're woken by your prized guitar falling to the ground...I did not want to take the risk. Another thing I noticed, after about an hour the neck pole slipped slightly, this happened twice and was tightened as far as it could go. I tested with a very light weight bass and a telecaster, so nothing too demanding.
