It’s an amazing item, came at an excellent time and accurately does a full hour time wise. The size is pretty cool and the colour is very nice as well.

I wanted a silent, readily-visible, unobtrusive but attractive means of measuring 30-minute periods for piano practice (I already use a metronome, so didn't want another audible timer). As it happens, I like hourglasses. So, despite knowing that a "30-minute hourglass" would never measure exactly 30 minutes, I chose this one.In terms of appearance, its simple, classic design fits unassumingly and rather nicely atop my piano. Now I've been using it a while, I thought I'd check exactly how long the "sand" runs for.In the case of the one I received, my "30-minute" hourglass isn't far off the mark at all -- 29:38. That's pretty good, and more than adequate for my purposes.Highly recommended.

Being a person who regularly forgets time exists, I thought purchasing this would be a good idea.What I like about this timer is that it is free to run. No sticking sand, works properly and accurate, it's is strong as a construction and gives a good decoration into my library.

I knocked a star off for the fact that it actually measures out 58 minutes not an hour but overall this is a great item. The sand goes through smoothly, it looks lovely and it's showing no sign of misting up or any damp issues.

For it being a simply crafted frame without the bells and whistles of larger, more ostentatious metal based frames, it looks perfect placed on my mantelpiece. I have a fetish for watching the way things move and the movements they make, so I can spend hours simply watching the sand pour from one end of the glass to the other. The grandkids love it. Well worth buying.
