I'm am occupational therapist and these are an excellent tool for helping children learn to hold the pencil with an efficient grasp. The mechanical aspect is great if an adult is able to keep track of them given the price; little harder loss when they disappear.

I wish I could call this 5 stars
Kind of disappointed. After reading all the reviews I got really excited. My daughter is 6 and struggles with her handwriting because she has gotten used to holding her pen incorrectly and simply can't seem to train herself differently. The grip works just as expected and really does help her a lot. What I didn't expect was the gripper to not come off! I thought this would be able to go on other pencils and pens. My child is struggling with handwriting and the only gripper that helps her is attached to a FINE POINT mechanical pencil. Not even the newer 1.3mm that are harder for kids to break. She went thru the led in a matter of days and honestly as perfect as the grippers are it is going to cost me a fortune to keep lead in them so I am not convinced they are worth it...Really wish they sold ones that could go on different pens and pencils or even a pencil with thicker lead.

The only way to hold it is the right way!
I love this thing because it works! My students love it because it's mechanical, colorful and comfortable! The old grips were being chewed and used as erasers. The WriteRights look like dolphins! The "eyeballs" seem to be easy to reach and a comfortable placement for my kindergarten students to keep their fingers. Also, it doesn't move position on the pencil, so it doesn't fall off, get relocated or chewed. I have not had to re-direct or reteach how to hold the dolphin correctly! The only way to hold it is the right way!

Pencil broke in one month!
I ordered several of the WriteRight Pencil grip for my son's Kindergarten class. I was disappointed to find out that half of the pencils broke before the lead even needed to be replaced. These pencils are not worth the price.

Works great but both broke in under 2 weeks
Works great but both broke in under 2 weeks. They stopped pumping the lead out and yes they were filled.

My son was struggling to write neatly. I was not sure if this pencil grip would make a real difference but his teacher recommended it. I could not believe the improvement - highly recommend!

Innovation at it's finest!!
I handed this to my seven year old grandson who had an improper, awkward and uncomfortable grip, resulting in poor penmanship. Without instruction, he knew exactly how to grab it and just began writing. What an improvement it made! His grip instantly became firmer, more steady and secure. His letters, as well. It was a delight to see. The WriteRight is an amazing device in that it offers some whimsy with it's cute dolphin shape and features, while at the same time providing a perfectly engineered, ergonomic and therapeutic serious writing tool all in one. I would recommend this for any child who is learning to write. It has the potential to help prevent poor writing habits from initially developing. Once acquired, poor habits are difficult to reverse. Learning can be impacted. The fact that it is available in multiple sizes for both left and right handed individuals makes it a truly customized and valuable device. Highly recommended! And.. made in the USA.

Great Grip- Horrible Pencil
These pencil grips are actually amazing. Even my 3 year could hold her pencil correctly with this. That said, it’s kind of a ripoff because of the cheap pencil it is attached to. I bought 5 pencils and within a month they all broke (inside mechanism that holds the graphite(?) stick). Unfortunately the grip is stuck to the faulty pencil and cannot be used on a different working pencil.*I bought mine off of their company website right before they started selling on amazon
