WELL, I REALLY LIKE THIS SHOE, PERIOD. I'VE GONE THROUGH 2 PAIR OFF NB 1080'S AND IN THE END THEY WERE O'K. BUT THIS SHOE FITS MY FEET IN A MANNER THE 1080'S NEVER DID . I WALK 3 MILES EVERY DAY AND SOMETIMES IN RAIN AND COLD WEATHER, IT'S A COMPULSIVE THING WITH ME AND I DRESS FOR THE OCCASION. SO, IN A YEAR I'LL PUT OVER A 1,000 MILES ON A PAIR OF SHOES. SO, THE NB 1080'S MAY HAVE BEEN PUSHED TO THE LIMIT AND NEXT YEAR I'LL LET YOU KNOW HOW THE NB 860SB4'S HELD UP FOR A 1,000 MILES OF WALKING. AS OF NOW I REALLY LIKE THE SHOES AND IT FITS GREAT ESPECIALLY IN HEEL AREA AND FOOT ROOM IN FRONT OF SHOE. TIME WILL TELL!!!!!

Great American assembled shoe. This is my 3rd pair over about 9 years. This pair in size 11 seems a bit larger in the toe area than my previous 860's - like if I was in a retail store I might at least try on the 10.5's. Not enough to send back however. Already have a 5 mike race and a couple of 4.25 mile runs on them.

Typical NB. When I order an 11 it fits the same as my other NB shoes. This is the only brand that I feel comfortable ordering on line because the shoe size is always consistent.

This is my third pair of New Balance running shoes. These are shoes are light, offer great support and the cushioned inersole cradles my feet,mile after mile. And best of all they're made in the USA.

I purchased these shoes at the Disneyland Half-Marathon expo (Run Disney Edition) for $125. These were to replace a pair of Asics Kayano 20. The 860v4 appear to be softer in the mid-shoe and heel areas, but just as stable. My toes are a bit on the long side, so I've had to lace the 860's in a way that pulls up the toe box or it rubs the top of my foot; this could just be a "break-in" issue. I've only put on about 10 miles on these shoes as of this writing. I have a relatively neutral gait and I feel like the shoe allows my foot to roll to the outside a little.Pros: soft, yet supportive and stableCons: a little too soft on the outside of my feet.

I have a podiatric issue that leads me to be very choosy about my running foot ware. I always used to get on well with New Balance, however the last pair I got (MT610GX2 model) were manufactured in Vietnam and we're decidedly poorer quality. This pair were UK manufactured and the quality is evident; I put about 20 mile on them in the first week and my legs feel great- all the aches, pains and niggles I had put up with from the other model over the last month have vanished and I am enjoying running again. Recommended.

Mein Vormodell NB 857 war durchaus in die Jahre gekommen, da ich aber inzwischen nur noch wenig laufe, habe ich mich für einen online-Erwerb entschieden, zumal ich wußte, was ich suche: Der Schuh ist sehr gut gedämft und funktioniert bei Überpronierern wie mir wirkungsvoll, Halt und Komfort sind ebnso in Ordnung. Beim Verschlußsystem mag es heute bereits bessere Techniken geben, aber auch die klassischen symmetrischen Schnürsenkel tun was sie sollen ;)

Habe den Schuh eine Nummer größer gekauft, man sollte bei Laufschuhen schon mindestens eine halbe Nummer größer nehmen. Tadellos, rutscht nicht. Fersendämmung sehr gut, Vorderfußdämmung gut. Kommt mit hartem Untergrund auch gut zurecht, bestens für Feld und Waldwege geeignet. Kiesel oder Schotterabschnitte werden gut weggesteckt. Für mittlere Strecken, 5-6 km, bei langsamen bis mittleren Tempo, bestens. Wer ausschließlich auf hartem Untergrund läuft, sollte aber doch, gerade bei längeren Strecken, eine noch bessere Dämmung in Betracht ziehen. Schnelles Gehen, etwa beim Aufwärmen, ist mit dem Schuh richtig angenehm. Persönlich bin ich mit dem Laufschuh sehr zufrieden. Wenn die Haltbarkeit ebenso gut ist, was ich natürlich noch nicht beurteilen kann, absolut empfehlenswert.Die Belüftung ist übrigens auch sehr gut.

Von der 860er Serie (früher 760) laufe ich nun den 17. Schuh. Die Passform ist perfekt, die Dämpfung hält bei mir bis gut 1000 km. Für Laufstrecken von 5 bis 100 km geeignet, da die Zehenbox ausreichend groß ist. Immer wieder habe ich ähnliche Schuhe anderer Hersteller ausprobiert, war aber nie gleichermaßen zufrieden. Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist top.
