Can this product be used on glass to give glass a crackled look?

Hi there, Yes, you can use our Premium Crackle Paste on glass, but depending on what you’re wanting to achieve with your project there are a couple of things to keep in mind. The crackle paste is opaque and will not dry clear (which is OK if you are applying over the top of a paint or want an opaque finish). The crackle paste also doesn’t have a lot to key onto with the glass, which means it will be prone to being scratched of if exposed to wear and tear. We also suggest applying with a thin coat, rather than a thick one, to create a larger crackle effect. Hope this helps with your project!

Can you mix this with water ?

It is water based, so yes. If you water it down too much it may not crackle though.

Trying to duplicate a 1648 painting. Like to use water mixable oil paint. Has anyone know if this product will work.

Hi Mikea, Yes, this will work with Water Mixable Oils to create an all-over crackle effect. You’ll need to put the crackle paste down first, then once cured, paint over it with the oils. Hope this helps.

Hi there! To use our Crackle Paste, apply a thin layer/coating of crackle to your surface and allow to dry before painting. If wanting to create a larger crackle effect, apply a thin layer of PVA glue to your surface and wait at least 20-30 minutes before applying the crackle. Allow the crackle to dry and then paint. In love! Used up half a container in less than a month!

I love this product. It's thick and opaque, crackles well and mixes with acrylic paint perfectly. I've used it in so many projects already and I'll probably have to order another container by next month!

Nice product

Was a little unsure at first but once I learned the tricks of amount for good adhesion it was a breeze to use. And your direction of application will determine the direction of the cracks. Control is not that difficult. Gives a nice touch.
