These things are great, I'm a master Honda technician
These things are great, I'm a master Honda technician, and I've used this as a replacement for the (screen door mesh inside) OEM transmission filter that my Element came with, as well as another one in-line with my power steering fluid. They seem to have a pretty decent job of filtering out particles, as I haven't seen any at the screen mesh at the bottom of the power steering reservoir, or much on the ATF drain plug magnet. Seems like a brilliant idea, as there is no other kind of filter on the inside of the Honda transmissions now. It's just a strainer, not much of a filter. Only time will tell for sure, but I think it's doing a lot of good. I got turned on to these products when they would ship with remanufactured transmissions at the dealer. The ones I picked up read to "replace every 3 years or 30k miles" and now I noticed the new ones read every "one year or 10k miles" I would honestly stick with the 3/30k-as this is the Honda scheduled time for the transmission fluid to be drained and refilled, and I think 10k is a little ridiculous. IMO, I'd say replace with every drain and fill service you're going to do on the system it is connected to.

Use this filter for transmission and for power steering
I used this filter for transmission and for power steering. The 99 Acura has a reputation for poor transmission. There is no filter without taking the trans apart, so this is an ideal filter for this car. There also is no filter on the power steering. If you are using these for new installations, you need to buy two hose clamps for an in-line hose application, or two pieces of hose and four clamps for a metal pipe insertion. The filter has a magnetic trap for fine iron-based contaminants.

No brainer add on for any transmission
Just pur hased my third one. Super strong magnet catches virtually all ferrous metal particles, and if there are any non-magnetic matals like aluminum, copper, etc, the filter material catches those. Mine is installed on a Subaru with a CVT transmission. Change it every 10K miles or 12 mo ths, whichever come first. Make sure you install it in the correct direction. There is a flow arrow printed on the filter.

Nice part!
Nice item! Looks great and well made too! You'll receive just the filter so you should get hose clamps! Don't forget the filter flow direction, check your car's manual before installing

Piece of mind
Knowing that this ATF filter is larger and capable of filtering more fluid is nice compared to the OEM. Definitely not a Chinese knockoff as I confirmed 100% authentic. Install was a breeze.

Been buying them for years, six cars, I think. No transmission problems during a total that goes into the hundreds of thousands of miles.

Cheap insurance
These filters seem well made and are easy to install. Gives me some peace of mind with Honda transmissions and others.
