When my wife and I got married and I saw she had a cheap, battery powered string trimmer her sister had given to her for Christmas, I just rolled my eyes, realizing she'd yet had just one more thing I'd need to replace with a legitimate, name branded, gas powered one to really get the job done effectively... until I tried it. To my surprise, her $70 trimmer worked like a champ and I've been using it every week for the past 7 years! When the string ran out, I went to "Wally World" and all they carried was the Black and Decker brand, so I bought it. A few years later when that ran out, I went looking for more on Amazon and discovered these no-name spools for less than half the price. Seriously, we're taking about nylon string wound on a spool. How much difference could there possibly be? NONE, apparently!! These generic spools are IDENTICAL in design and materials to the B&D ones and they even give you a few extra orange caps which install every bit as well as the originals. Swap the string out in about 45 seconds and you're back in business (though it might take you half the afternoon to find where you last left the refills). I'm definitely a guy who appreciates quality and frown on cheap knock-offs, but trust me, this string doesn't disappoint, costs a small fraction of the B&D-branded stuff and does every bit as good a job!

Don't be fooled by this product like I was. I purchased these because I got more and paid less than if I were to go with the brand name. However - I found out the hard way that the lines last a fraction of what the brand name last and I had to swap out 2 of these every time I mow. Before I didn't need to replace until I've mowed the yard at least 5-6 times and that's a big IF. I run the electric trimmer between 2-4 speed and honesty once the pack runs out I won't be fooled again. Pretty annoying.

Won't autofeed. Looks are identical to the OEM spool but there must be something slightly off. Tried two spools and no feed. Pulled the line off and filled the OEM spool and fed with no problem so it's not the line just a bit out of spec.

I have a black and decker battery operated weed wacker and the plastic cap broke and the spring went flying. This pack came with 2 caps and springs and everything fixes perfectly saving me about $50 for the purchase of another weed wacker and the reworn spools are great. This is worth having on hand for that day went the cap breaks which it will since it hits the ground as you use the weed wacker.

These spools work perfect. All you do is load the string and insert. For the price you can’t go wrong. I priced these at the store. For only three, you pay 20 dollars and the caps are one for 5 dollars. If you bought all this individually, it would cost you over 50 dollars easy. Best part is this, just string up all the spools and swap them out while your cutting. No need to constantly having to restring in the heat anymore! It’s a great time saver. Plus the caps do wear out eventually. I’ve had one completely wear all the way through. It’s great to have spares for any unexpected malfunction that will indefinitely put an end to your cutting. Don’t get caught off guard, be prepared. It’s one of the best buys I’ve made. Now cutting is breeze and no weed can stand in my way!
