Works great!
Perfect! I had never used an anchor with a float before... If you are wondering what the float is for. I use it when fighting a fish and I need to release the anchor quickly, then I can go back and easily retrieve my anchor.

works for PWC and smaller boats held for 4 days on a fast moving river.
I was worried when I read the mixed reviews but I think half of the users don’t know how to set an anchor. I used this to tie a PWC and it held for 4 days as I hooked and on hooked from it. Never moved the anchor. I had this and a beach hammer spike. Every speed boat that went past had a large wake and the current was pushing against this all weekend but it didn’t move an inch. I did two mods as mentioned in other reviews 1’ galvanized chain with a clip for weight to help it dig the teeth in at a better angle and moved the rope to the other end and used a zip tie to hold it to the original end. I only gave it 4 stars because the ring that holds the hooks out has lots of slop and they can move like 30 to 40 degrees when “locked”

hook broke before hitting the water
At first glance everything looked to be decent quality but after paddling out I was getting ready to drop the anchor for the very first time and the pin that holds the latch onto the hook fell out. I was able to find it but could not get the latch back together so I decided to just tie the end of the rope to my kayak. The anchor itself seemed to work fine and I thought about exchanging it but decided to return it instead. Maybe it was bad luck but having the hook break while unrolling the rope for the first time just didn't instill confidence. The only other thing I noticed while drying it out is that the blue on the rope definitely bleeds and runs when wet (as a few other reviewers have mentioned). Be careful where you leave it to dry! I assume it would eventually stop running but as I mentioned I only used it once before returning it.

Excellent replacement for anchor lost overboard.
I like the float attached to the anchor line. This feature could could prevent loss of the anchor if the tie line comes loose. Very nice carry bag too keeps the anchor and line contained in small package. Convenient clip on the anchor line allows for quick and secure attachment of anchor to kayak. Overall a very nice package.

Ok, this setup certainly works but replacing the rope ...
Ok, this setup certainly works but replacing the rope portion with a diving reel is both more efficient and space saving. I kayak fish and having the heavy, wet rope to lug around is a chore. Also, a dive reel can hold a lot more line than 50 feet...remember the 3:1 rule.

It's an anchor!
It is indeed an anchor. They are pretty simple things kinda hard to screw up...lol It seems well made. The rope and float seem good and durable. It comes with a nice bag (that you really have to stuff it to fit in).

Good quality and value
Compact and convenient. I am not sure if the weight is enough for a small kayak like mine (53 pounds). It is fine for stopping the kayak while I am in the kayak, but I would not anchor the kayak and leave it unattended at the lake while going for lunch, The anchor packs compactly in a top quality storage bag. This is a quality product, well made and designed.

which will hold up much better than a painted anchor
The anchor is galvanized, which will hold up much better than a painted anchor. The hardware appears to be stainless and I have not noted any rust yet. This comes with everything needed. However, I added 2 feet of chain, attached to the lower eye, and then attached to the regular eye with a split ring. This allows an immediate set, and should allow the anchor to come free if it is snagged.
