Sound quality exceeds

I purchased this after accidentally shredding another speaker’s wires because I needed to plug the usb for power into an adapter in a wall outlet and then plug the jack into the aux d/t shortage of available USB ports on my desktop computer. This was the perfect replacement. Grip strips on the bottom keep it in place and it takes up minimal space in front of my monitor while still being loud enough for my virtual meetings and the variety of volumes you have from different computers/phones in those. The volume adjusting knob on top is great for when someone who is too loud/too quiet starts talking. I use this at work and share a small office, so I try to cause a minimal amount of noise pollution. The lights have turned out to be a little pick me up in the white cinder block room with fluorescent lighting that I spend 8+ hours in daily. Highly recommend for the price!

The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of five is because no where does it make clear which 3.5mm jack is which. The only clue I had was the plastic color on the jack (red-ish/pink-ish is industry standard for microphone), nor whether the sound jack can handle "speaker out" levels instead of "line out" levels (in case of mis-wiring). The USB power and audio wires were joined, making me have to plug them very close together or split them until they could reach. In my case, I had to move my USB devices around so they were close enough (I dislike disorganized cable clutter).Operationally, it is more than a great value for my limited budget: I only needed a simple speaker output, but having full stereo and some neat-o lights is a bonus. Having it's own volume control is also great, as I can change it without having to find and click my computer's volume/mixer controls. The additional jacks for input/output on the device are also nice, should I ever need them.

This little speaker replaced my two speaker set that I've had for years, and so far so good.Things to know:- If you're an audiophile, you will probably not enjoy this speaker. You have to think about it as what it is - A bar of sound that is Just Okay.- Headphone/mic works well, which is nice if you stream/do meetings with people home/etc.- It definitely doesn't mimic surround sound. How could it? It is a bar. Just a bar of sound.- This little dude is perfect if you're into lofi music while you work/study/relax, and the lighting adds a nice layer of chill.I say all of this as someone who definitely paid more for my stereo speakers and headphones and does care a lot about audio quality. Just measure your expectations, and this speaker will be just fine for daily use.
