iPod / iPhone Charging Adapter Converter - Convert 12V to 5V - Converts Old iPod Dock, iPod Alpine, Pioneer and Car Hook Ups to 5V Allowing You to Charge the New iPod and iPhones-Black

I have an older ipod (classic) and about a half dozen docks or adapters that I bought years ago to charge it.I bought an new iPod Nano (6th gen) and was shocked when I discovered it would not charge in any of my docks. A little research provided the answer that Apple had changed the charging circuit to use a different pin on the connector. Sigh...I found this Charging Adapter and it seemed like it would be the solution to getting my Nano to charge wherever I happened to be using it. Sadly, even with this adapter, my Nano would still not charge in 4 of my 5 docks. Luckily, the one that it did work in is the one I use at work and is the primary reason I went looking for a charging adapter.I'm not sure why it failed to work in the other docs (that still charge my Classic, by the way), and I don't have the patience to find out why.I would have definitely returned it if it hadn't worked in that one dock. I'm still kinda on the edge about returning it or not. Just be aware that whether it works in your older docks my end up being a toss of the dice.

Bought this so my 4th gen ipod nano would charge while playing / resting in a JVC dock which we used with an earlier generation ipod for years. the charging part worked - but the music wouldn't play through the dock when connected. So for me it wasn't worth the $18 to just use it as a charger then disconnect to play music. Admittedly, the JVC dock was not mentioned in the product description, so for all I know it works great with the exact types of devices described. I'd hoped it would work for me, but alas, no.

The adapter works well. The problem I have with it is size. It's very thick and it's impossible to connect to iPhone with a case that covers any part of the bottom of the phone. I had to take the case off to use it. I ended up buying a dock extension cable that fits very nicely and gives an ability to lift and move the phone. It solves the problem of iPod adapter being short on Infiniti G35.Also I wish that product descriptions had detailed size information so it's known in advance.

I bought this to power my iPhone when using it on an older Alpine car stereo with an iPod connector cable. Not bad for the price, however the thing seems to work only when it wants to (which is about 80% of the time). Also, the plastic around the proprietary jack makes it hard to plug into an iPhone wearing a case. Either slip the case off your iPhone each time or do what I did: cut away the plastic around the connector and put the plastic adapter case back on with electrical tape.

Unit will power my 4s but I loose the ability to control the 4s from the head unit. I can use the 4s as an ipod and select music from the phone.Pandora on the 4s will not send audio signal to the head unit using this device. Without the device pandora will work.It is a tradeoff between functionality and the ability to charge and play music.Nothing seems to be easy in the Apple world.

Bought this neXplug adapter to connect my iPhone 6s to my 2012 Xterra. Xterra has the old 30pin connector with 12V supply so the neXplug will convert down to 5V for newer (post iPhone 3G ) phones. This adapter then plugs into the Apple 30pin to lightning adapter. Phone now charges and music works but neXplug gets very hot after only a few minutes.

When I read the previous reviews I did not know if this adapter would work with the iphone 4s. Well I am very pleased to say it works just fine. I bought it mainly to charge my iphone because I have a Dension ice link car kit set up in my car and when the new phones were released it would no longer charge my phone. So this adapter worked. Very happy with this purchase and the price is right.

Got the 6th gen nano and it won't charge in my 06 Scion TC like my 2nd gen nano. (apple dropped the ball on that one)Works OK. Still errors when first starting car, Says "charge error" if left on ipod. Shutting down car while on radio and restart and then switching to ipod is OK (Weird) but works good so far. Leave the equilizer off on the nano seems to help with some errors.
