Great product.
I was desperate for some sort of anchoring since hurricane Harvey took a turn for our area and order it. I knew it wasn't designed for RV anchoring but since I could not find any ground anchors at our area I order it out of desperation either way a friend of mine borrowed me a couple of ground anchors but I still installed the claw system and I was surprised how well designed this system is, even on soft ground the anchors won't pull out. I'm pretty sure this is the best system around awening around, since I didn't buy it for that purpose you could doubt but I'm telling you the ground is really soft here since it's near to the beach is almost sand here and I have tried pulling it with my full weight and it doesn't come out.

Amazon RV Awning Tie-Downs
I'm very happy with the claw, so far. I used it to tie down my awning about a week ago and since then have had some winds in the 25 mph range with no movement of the legs or loss of tension in the tie-down strap holding the awning down. It was very easy to install, much easier than pegs or helical tie downs. The only problem I see with them is they are supposed to be used directly below the awning and if you are situated on a concrete patio you would have to move the claw out to open ground causing your tie down straps to reach them at an angle. The claw is designed to work best when the strap pulls directly up at the centre of the claw. It will probably still hold but not as well - time will tell. I didn't see anything about that in the reviews or description prior to buying and it surprised me. Fortunately it isn't a problem where we are currently parked. I would still recommend The Claw.

So far so good. Fairly easy install.
I already left a packaging review to Amazon regarding the fact that I received a used product. However, despite the fact that they sent me a used item, overall it appears to be a good product. The claw holds firm, I hammered in the nails with ease, although not using the tiny hammer that comes in the kit, I used a 2.5lb sledge as we have a few small rocks to get past. I physically pulled up on the rope attached to the claw to see how well it holds. I am not a small guy and I couldn't get it to budge. We have not had any good winds yet but it gives me the warm and fuzzy against some of the small winds we get here. I will still be putting my awning down in high winds as it is still not good for the cloth portion of the awning.Installation is fairly easy. I say fairly because according to the instructions you are supposed to loop the end through the little loop at the other end. The problem is that the little loop is too small to fit the metal adjustment piece. If the loop were only an inch bigger this would make installation and tear down much easier, so they lost one star for that, and I will most likely be replacing the straps with some of my own, or cutting their loop and making it bigger.

The Claw Rocks!
This setup is incredibly secure in holding down our RV awning. We had a fairly strong storm in our last outing and I kept an eye on the awning. It hardly moved and I was confident having it in place overnight and not having to roll in the awning. My only negative is that the provided hammer is quite weak and useless. I saw dents in the face of the hammer and stopped using it, relying on my hatchet back instead. The other components are all top quality, and I like having the carrying bag to keep everything together. This is much better than that screw-in dog tie-downs I had been using, which were quite impossible to insert into the typical gravel patios at the campgrounds we visit.

This thing works !
I stumbled across "The Claw" RV awning anchoring system while digging around on the internet after a trip to my local RV store revealed their selection of awning "stakes," etc. looked pretty weak. I thought that if the folks who make and market The Claw system have experience in anchoring light aircraft on grass strips, they should surely be able to hold down a RV awning! So, I ordered the thing through Amazon.com.When it arrived, I knew I had a winner, and the very next weekend I had the opportunity to put it to the test... in the sandy soil of east Texas. The ground was so sandy that the stakes could very nearly be pushed fully into the ground simply by pushing them down with the heel of my shoe! Even so, once installed, neither I nor others who looked at it were able to pull it from the ground, no matter how we tugged and pulled.Granted, it's a bit pricy, but considering the cost of a quality RV awning, and the security this system provides, it seems a bargain.

Great Tie Down
Have used these at several fly-ins and they work well. AirVenture approved if you're going to Oshkosh. They come in a kit. I've replaced the straps with heavier duty ratchet straps (makes me feel better). Buy the system that has all three tie downs. I thought I could save money by buying the two and then later one more. It was a waste of time. Just buy all three in the other kit they offer. Pay Once, Cry Once.

Strong and easy to use
When you need a good solid anchor this is it. It holds my 8’ tall mesh windbreak hard and fast. I bought the kit which comes with a cute little hammer that is almost laughable, but I tried it anyway. It took 40 whacks to drive in the spikes that my larger hammer did in 30. It will be useful for more delicate projects. I really like the tie down straps that come in the kit. Does the job of ratchet straps but are MUCH easier to use. I wonder if I can buy just the straps. I'll be buying more of these!

The anchors themselves are great, used them on my pop up canopy several times and did not budge. If you are camping well worth the price. However the tie straps are a disappointment. Ratcheting tie downs would be a better choice.
