They are great for holding my 1 pound bags of whole beans. I find I don't set the date on the top. I drink a lot of coffee. Only know is that the scoop holder doesn't hold the scoop well. The scoop moves all over the place.

The Coffee Gator is one among several brands that feature the CO2 release valve, an important component to maintaining freshness of your whole beans. I do not buy ground beans, I grind them myself and you should to. Grinding is such an important part of a good cup of coffee you really need to be utilizing control over this step of the cup making process instead of trusting a generic grind you may find at the store. Those of you who buy your beans at a roaster whole know what I mean. The Coffee Gator container has solid construction, and I particularly like the seal maintaining mechanism, though it should be said other comparable brands do pay attention to the importance of the kinds of designs that provide good seal. There were several brands I researched before narrowing it down to the top two or three brands before I chose the Gator brand. The other two were similar in almost every way. In the end I liked the fact the Gator brand had color choices I liked and that was the decider factor. I found this item from a review on Youtube. It does not hold a full pound of the whole beans I bought from my local roaster. The Gator does come in a larger size, which includes a travel-size container. If I had it to do over again, I would have purchased that package. It's just before Christmas--so the Gator canisters are discounted, making them a good deal. The seal on the canisters is tight--the clamp has a strong hold but is easy to open and close. The finish is a matte espresso brown/black and has not become scratched or scuff though I have it packed in tight with other items in my coffee cupboard. I have another canister with a bracket that sticks out for holding a metal coffee scoop. This takes up more room, and the metal protrusion may jeopardize my glass French press if I'm not super careful. Therefore, I like that the metal scoop that comes with the Gator canister is separate, and the sides are smooth except for the handle to open the clamp. I would love to have something like the airspace, but it's considerably more expensive. I chose to put my money into a really nice Timemore hand-grinder and have no regrets about that decision. The dial on top for date and month makes keeping track of freshness easy. Overall, it is a good addition for the price--and I would go for the larger size if you want to store a standard size bag of coffee beans.

I love these coffee containers and ultimately bought 3 more after buying the initial one to try. I now have two 11 oz and two 16 oz containers. I use the 11 oz for my paper basket filters to keep them clean and the 16 oz for my coffee. The containers seal well, and the latch is easy to use. I have never had an issue with coffee going stale in these containers, though I admit that I drink enough coffee that it isn't sitting in there for months on end. I find that the included scoop is perfectly sized for my usage with my 5-cup coffee maker, so it was an added bonus.

This airtight container seems to be keeping my ground coffee mice and fresh and looks good However, it arrived with a small dent on the bottom/edge and - after only using twice - the stainless steel scoop handle just fell off. Obviously it wasn't properly welded on, or had it been glued? This is why I can only give this product 3 stars.

Une bien belle boîte à café, avec un filtre et un clapet de degasage pour le café en grain fraîchement torifié. 3 autres filtres sont fournis. La boite paraît vraiment qualitative et solide, elle est magnifique se qui ne gâche rien. Le petit doseur de 40ml est également de bonne qualité, le métal est assez épais et sera très solide dans le temps. Pour info je rempli le doseur de décaféiné moulu pour un machine Delonghi et c'est la bonne dose.

This is an amazing product and I highly recommend it. I have an espresso coffee machine that grinds the coffee within the machine. I used to fill the chamber up with the coffee beans. Now, however, I take a scoopful from my Coffee Gator, put it in the chamber and grind that up that one scoop. I honestly can't believe how much fresher and better my coffee is now. And, I have no idea why, but I don't get any "shaky" feelings after drinking my coffee. I only have one cup a day, and it is now the a major highlight for me! Thank you

I bought this Coffee Gator 900 ml canister as a Christmas gift for my partner to help manage her coffee habit. We already own two of the larger Coffee Gator canisters, and this smaller one is ideal for overflow beans or when she buys a smaller bag. Build quality is excellent. The stainless steel feels solid and high quality, and the airtight seal does a good job of keeping coffee fresh. It looks good on the counter and matches the larger versions nicely, which was important since they’re all kept together. The size is genuinely useful rather than redundant. It works well for smaller bags or rotating beans without having to open a large container. It’s also easy to clean. The smooth stainless interior doesn’t hold smells and wipes out quickly, which is important for something used daily. Overall, good value for money and very well made. A practical, high-quality canister and a great gift for anyone serious about their coffee.
