Q: Can you mount this between 2 walls if they are close enough together or does it have to be mounted in a door frame only?

If not in a door frame, the bar should be mounted between two wooden studs (you would need a stud finder to locate them behind your drywall). Also you would need longer screws than the ones included, so they are embedded in the studs pass drywall. I hope it helps.

Q: Is the rod removeable from the doorframe?

The brackets are attached by screws, but the bar can be removed from the brackets easily.

Q: Can a climbing gym rope be hung from here?

You can definitely attach other swing accessories to this bar. But I would have couple concerns with the climbing rope. First it won't be high enough to climb. And second I would recommend to secure it at the bottom, since it will rotate freely and the child might hit the door frame. Thank you Marina Mironov DreamGYM Inc.

Q: How high up does it need to be hung? Our doorframes are curved and I want to hang it where the curve ends and the surface becomes flat.

The swing does stretch with weight in it so for older/heavier kids, hang as high as possible.
