It's a tad loose on my auto-tilt pole, but that can be fixed. It has a pressure loaded gripper inside the ring to allow it to fit different size poles. Bright light, of course, typical LED light. Our umbrella is a yellow/gold color so tonight I am going to try it facing the umbrella to see if it casts a golden light that way.it does require using all four batteries...I thought I could dim the light by using less batteries per chamber, but the chambers aren't real chambers apparently.
