Make music and enjoy
Out of few guides that I bought on mixing electronic music, this one is definitely in my top 5. Since I was little I enjoyed remixing / mixing electronic music and I wanted to get better at this and improve my skill. What will you get out of this book: Well explained tips and Not too big not too short guide. It's worth the price!

Not bad for free
It's an ok read and I did learn a thing or two. Most likely not going to be my go to book for inspiration.

Technical and Creative
I think my title speaks for itself. The author mixed technical productivity with the creative juices of a musician. It gave tips on how to motivate yourself in making music and how could you get yourself flowing. Included inside are basic reminders in making music as well. Technical terms are explained as much as possible for those who are starting out. And as the author said, write down the title first! I recommend it.

Good red
My brother is very musically inclined. A nice way to say he's obsessed with anything musical. I thought this would be a good birthday gift for him. Fortunately he loved this book. I couldn't help myself and read the book and though I am not as musically inclined as my brother I quite liked the book.

Take your music creation skills to the next level.
Useful music creation tips from a professional. The book is short (in the good way) and is straight to the point, with all the needed action steps, pro tips and resources. I have no doubt that it can benefit everyone and save a lot of time rather than trying to learn everything by themselves.

Definitely useful and could be used in different ways by those with different levels of experience and understanding.
This is the 2nd book in this series that I've bought, the other being 'Music Theory' for which I awarded 5 stars in my review. Music Theory: Simple Music Theory for Electronic Music Production 'Making Music' is also a useful buy but may have more limited appeal. Certainly anyone who is already proificient at creating and arranging electronic music using a DAW, synths, controller keyboards etc. might find the book a little too familar in terms of its contents and range. Even so, it might still contain a few ideas that suggest a different approach or alternative ways to experiment and explore. For those who are new to the physical and mental processes involved in music creation, the book should have greater appeal and usefulness.Unlike 'Music Theory' there are no diagrams but most sections are followed by associated 'Pro tips' and several topics are further developed by clearly described 'walk-throughs' of how to proceed. (Eg: "How to: 'play' your loop for greater arrangement" and "... "How to: Make a list gathering together the best bits of sound design and mixing decisions used in your earlier projects."). There is a noticeably interesting and useful example entitled "... How to: Create a chord progression using some popular chord progression formulas as a starting point...". Can I here add my own tip at this point? -A program I often use for experimenting with chord progressions and rhythms is the standalone program CHORDPULSE. This isn't specifically intended for use with a DAW and his is meant for those folks who want to create backing tracks or who just want to mess around with rhythms and chords for songwriting or jamming against. It isn't a VST and can just be used just for fun and experimentation. There are several versions including a cut-down 'Lite' version which is free. I have the paid-for version which tends to be updated every couple of years with additional rhythms and styles. Look for it by searching for www <dot> chordpulse <com> com. Creations can be saved as text, midi or in Chordpulse's own format. I use it a lot for trying chord progressions. So, to recap ... this book IS useful and many may prefer to use it as a 'dip-in' to spark ideas at random rather than as a result of reading through it from page 2 to page 49. Others, especially those new to the activity, may get more by reading each section in full or even by reading from cover to cover. Music Theory: Simple Music Theory for Electronic Music Production
