A Must Have For Crafters
I bought myself a Cricut for pandemic boredom. I ordered this cutter right away for things to go with it. I am so glad I did. It is an absolute must to get straight accurate lines. It took me awhile to notice that the one side flips up to measure longer cuts. That's on me though. The blade is sharp. I wouldn't use this for heavy duty use but for the average crafter this is perfect and a must have. The price is a great value for what it does.

Perfectly straight cuts every time.
I have always been somewhat tragic when trying to make a straight and clean cut across different types of paper when I am crafting. Now that I have this easy to use paper trimmer each line is clean, sharp and most of all straight. You can use it to slice paper for just ordinary straight cuts but in addition to that you can make perfect 45 and 90 angle cuts as well. You can cut up to 12 sheets at a time which makes quick work of cutting wrapping paper during the holidays. I work with a medium weighted cardstock that also can be easily cut Instead of having the old style school cutter where you lift the handle and lay down the blade and the blade is easily exposed and a temptation for little hands this cutter has a small trimmer that slides back and forth with a bit of pressure in order to expose the blade which I believe is easier for little hands. I am pleased with this and find myself going to it quite often.

Measurement not accurate
The measurements are off by 1/4”. I’m glad I decided to check before I went on a cutting rampage. I precut my papers for scrapbooking. The white card is the card I cut the was supposed to measure 6”. I moved the yellow card over to 6.25 and as you can see, that’s the 6” measurement. I don’t have time or patience to be fiddling with this. Rulers should be accurate. On the other hand, it cut very cleanly.

Not accurate
Poor accuracy. It is hard to get a straight cut, I think the blade is slightly angled so that when you butt up the edge of your perfectly straight piece of paper to the guide edge, it cuts at a slight angle. So instead of using the guide edge, you must look at the line where the cut will be made and sort of eyeball it. The rulers don't seem to be long enough, they should be printed to do we more space, especially closer to the blade and/or on both sides of the blade. I didn't think about this one not having the extended ruler arm, bit that may have helped. The handle for lifting the blade tends to slip from your fingers (it's a weird flat shape, sort of awkward to pick up and set down) so it tends to slam down loudly unless you take care to gently set it down. It works, it cuts well, but mine at least is not accurate, so what is the point? I guess I got what I paid for. If you just want to cut something no bigger than 4" and no smaller than 2" in length, and you don't mind eyeballing for straightness, then sure it's a deal. If you want something more generally useful and accurate, I would recommend purchasing a better quality paper cutter.

Almost perfect...
So far, this is a wonderfully useful tool. It's plenty big to accommodate 8.5" x 11" sheets and does a good job of cleanly cutting through 1, or 2, pieces at a time. It can slice through more, but I suspect that would dull the blade pretty quickly. One negative I've recently noticed: When you extend the ruler arm, the markers are slightly off. If you're going for a very accurately-measured cut, best not to rely on the ruler. Oh, well... The marks on the main board, (without the extension), are right on.

NOT AT ALL ACCURATE & Have NO idea where the blade will cut
Really wanted to love this "thing," but I will go back to a steel ruler to mark and cut with an Olfa blade against a steel ruler. This thing is NOT at all accurate and having to "guess" where to place the paper to get the measurement I want has wasted paper and a few sheets of expensive card stock. e.g. Pulled the arm up for measuring across the top. I wanted a simple 6" cut, so I placed on the 6" mark and got a 5-7/8" cut. Have no idea where the blade is going to fall to adjust. Next, I want a 5-7/8" measurement, cut, and get 5-1/2". Okay, the 6" measurement desired is off by 1/8" and the other 5-7/8" wanted is off by 3/8. Finally, I want a 14 cm cut and place on 14 cm--results are 14.2 cm. (If each time it was off the same amount, one could adjust accordingly, but NADA on that count. Thankfully, this was not expensive, but will only be used, for what little cutting I do, that does not need such accuracy. I thought I was going to like that the arm gives measurements, for "accuracy," so more length to make sure stock is straight, but without accuracy for measurement OR even a mark to show where the blade is to know where it will cut, I could mark the stock and line the mark up with the blade line. . . .There's a valley where the blade runs, but who knows if it runs left, right or on center??????? I AM NOT AT ALL IMPRESSED! Again, I can cut more accurately with a mark, a steel ruler, and an Olfa blade!! My cheap little Dollar store cutter where you have to mark where you want to cut, at least shows a mark on the board where the blade will be. If you don't need accuracy, this is fine, but when I buy a tool with measurements, I expect it to be accurate! As well, I don't think the blade is going to hold up as having to slide back/forth more than once to get a cut seems not very sharp with which to even start as a NEW item. I do like that the blade hides when not pressed down for safety. I'm being generous with a 2** for what it claims to do, but is inaccurate and no mark to know where the blade will cut, to even line up a mark made on the paper. . . .

Perfect for home office use
I wanted a paper cutter because i have a business where i sell items from my home. I am sending packages out weekly. After printing the shipping labels i was spending so much time cutting them out, this cut my time to seconds instead of minutes. (Which adds up when you're shipping multiple items!) It also has an extending arm for larger papers. Works great! Very pleased with this purchase.

Better for lighter weight paper
I was using this device to cut heavy weight watercolor paper and experienced some difficulty with paper shifting or moving when cutting down towards myself. Found it easier to cut away from myself from bottom to top. Wrecked a few pieces in process of learning how to use best. Guides are not exact and difficult to judge the exact position of blade. I had a roller blade in the past and that was more expensive but worked better overall. For thin paper, scrapbooking or photos this item would be okay.

Dull blade and does not cut straight !
Update. I didn’t like it at first but wanted to keep trying to make it work. This does not cut straight. I’ve never had this problem with previous cutters. Also seems like the blade has been used before or something..unless they are all this dull? My paper is only 32lbs and this seems like I’m cutting cardboard...spend a couple more dollars and get a better brand.

This is a great bargain!
I've just started scrapbooking again so there are many costs to do this. Reading the reviews I thought the odds were in my favour it would do the trick for me. I went into the purchase thinking you get what you pay for and I hope it would last until the end of the month until I could afford a Fiskars's trimmer. It will definitely last much longer. I won't be replacing it any time soon. The cuts are very clean and precise. I've been using it every day and several times a day since it arrived. For the amount of times I have used it already if I have to replace the blade soon I have gotten my money's worth out of the blade. I'm not sure why others have given it a bad review as I feel I have gotten way more out of it than I paid for.
