Woodland & Young North EPs

The Paper Kites is a good group. From this product page, however, you can't listen to samples. It took me a minute to figure it out, but you can listen to samples from the albums. Under the drop down menu of MP3 Music on Amazon, type "Paper Kites." You will see the icons for the two albums included on this set. You need to click on each of the individual albums to hear the samples. (The cover art on the individual albums is nicer.) It would have been nice to get the MP3 version included in this set, but for the price, I can upload it myself.All of the songs from the two albums, "Woodland" and "Young North" are including in this compilation album. It's a good price (currently $6.49) because if you pay for the two albums separately, it will set you back $8.98 total. Note, however, that even though the two albums are combined, you are only getting a total of eleven songs. The style is indie singer-songwriter type of music. You've probably heard their music before, and you'll recognize at least some of these songs. It's very soft and nice to listen to. It reminds me of the music of Peter, Paul and Mary, and I'm looking forward to receiving my copy of this album.Although I have not yet listened to this particular album, and I generally do not write product reviews until I fully assess the entire product experience, I wanted to share with others how to listen to the samples while the price is so good. If there are any quality issues when I receive the disc, I will update my review.

If for nothing else, get this for the Woodland EP. I love the Young North EP, but the Woodland EP is just so fantastic. Willow Tree March is my favorite song on there, but really the whole EP is well put together and you can't beat two CDs in one. The Paper Kites are a great band.

The lyrics seem a bit repetitive and hard to hear, but I really love the music. It's great for background party music or for driving.

I only discovered the band after one of their songs, "Bloom", featured in a recent episode of Cold Feet! As a result, I bought this CD of the 2EPs and wasnt disappointed. There are nods to Fleet Foxes, Leisure Society and the Shins. Great melodies. A shame their gig at Manchester University in 10 days is already sold out!

Bought "On The Corner Where You Live" which I loved, so bought this too. Earlier music from the band and a little more folky that "Corner", but these are wonderful songs. I love it.
