Read, learn and put into action.
Such a good book (and I've read 100's). I've been interested in food as medicine for 40 years. You think you know it all then a book like this comes along and reminds you that you never stop learning. I'm such a believer in eating good home cooked real food with no processed rubbish. I removed all bread, all flour products, grains, sugar and white potatoes from my diet a while ago (2018) & never been afraid to eat good fats. I miss the odd meal because I'm really not hungry. I'm slimmer, healthier and look younger than my 57 years so will always eat this way for life. My blood pressure is down, my triglycerides are down and Hdl up. (good cholesterol) I went from 11 stone 4 lbs to 8 stone 4lbs with no effort what so ever in 4 months and have kept it off since. At 5 foot 7 inches that was a uk size 14 to a uk size 6/8. No rubbish foods taste as good as being slim feels. Please give low carb eating a go and watch the weight fall off.

Some real good ideas here!
I liked how the book described getting your body to burn fat as well as eat healthy. There are a lot of good tips here that give you a different mind set towards eating. I would also suggest watching that sugar film and Fed Up. They go hand in hand on what the book is saying.

A book with good advice
Good Basic Nutrition and exercise information. The thing I did not like was her recommendation to eat animal fat and coconut oil. The Science in Public Interest advises against eating both

Brilliant
Quality is the mantra of this book. Stephanie describes a way of life that is sustainable and very different from the usual short term fix of diet gurus. Her well researched solution challenges the received wisdom of cutting back the calories and pounding the treadmill for hours. She provides all the science in an accessible form to convince us that nutrient dense food and high intensity exercise will make you healthier, more energetic, fitter and ultimately svelte. Out goes the processed food designed by manufacturers to hit the "sweet spot" which makes us buy more and overeat. It's a relief to know there's a physiological explanation for why one biscuit is not enough. It's not lack of willpower. If the book inspires you to start those changes you might want to check out Grayshott Spa where Stephanie is the Clinical Nutritionist. I've just had a week on their Health Regime which was brilliant and this book is great revision for all I learnt during my stay. Oh and I cam away 6 lb lighter while eating loads. Result.
