Good but...
The ingredient list was not correct - the one on the screen did not match what arrived. Hubby is allergic to onion and therefore wasn't able to have any - the person it was purchased for.

DISGUSTING EXCUSE FOR CHILI
It's disgraceful when a company can get away with selling cans of chili that are filled with more salt than meat and beans. According to the label on the can, Stagg Original Chili contains an exceedingly disgusting level of SODIUM/SALT: 1100 grams!!! Eleven hundred grams of SALT is far too much in a can that only contains 15 ounces of sub-par chili. By comparison, an average can of Progresso soup contains about 180 grams of sodium and those cans have more than 15 ounces of soup in them. The food company, Hormel, owns the brand line of Stagg chilis. Perhaps seeking to have a monopoly on the chili business, Hormel markets Stagg Chili as if it were an independent food company, not part of a larger conglomerate but this is exactly what Stagg is, a mere subsidiary of a food giant. My experience has taught me this: when a food conglomerate buys smaller food companies, they keep the small business trade name on the cans of food but begin selling garbage inside those cans rather than good and healthy tasting food. I am throwing the remainder of my Stagg Classic Chili out in the garbage. I wouldn't even feed it to animals.

Not what it used to be
I should have listened to previous reviewers who complained about the recipe being changed recently. The flavor is still good, but this chili is a LOT thinner - like soup now, really - and greasier than it used to be. I used to love it, but now I won't buy it again. Why did the company have to ruin a good thing?!?

Well, now that it's a collectors item...
It's nice-to-have emergency or bomb-shelter food. It's a can of salty meat and beans with some heat too, and the color is a perfect, reddish brown. After all, we eat with our eyes before we eat with our mouths. And, it makes me forget about eating for hours. I like Stagg Chili because there is nothing overtly cheap or off-putting about the taste. I love the pull-top can, so when the apocalypse hits I won't even have to find that can opener.
