An introduction and an easy way to find my way round the bible. I’m not scared of the big book now , Andrew is a wonderful guide.

This book was so good that, as I read a chapter each day, I found myself dreading coming to the last page. I wanted to go back to the beginning and read it all over again. It never flagged. It gave a wonderful sense of the coherence of scripture - one big narrative yet written over many centuries by around forty authors.Andrew Ollerton is a gifted writer. He uses illustrations to great effect and his style is unpretentious and clear.This inspirational book gives the reader a fresh confidence in the Bible as the word of God. In these days of uncertainty we are helped to see that history really is going somewhere and that God is in control. Good to know.

Having read the KJV and found it difficult to understand in places and connect, this book helps demystify the bible and connect it to your life (Altho the author does skim over certain difficult subjects in the bible that are no longer politically correct, which I felt was a bit of a cop out, but Tbh I don’t blame him!) over all a great book if new to Christianity (which I am!)

I have spent years trying to find a book I could engage with. I wanted a book that helped guide me through bible meanings and help me understand how something written more than 2000 years ago could impact my life today. This book has opened my eyes to Bible passages I used to just skim over. I have read more of the Bible since buying this book then I have done in the past 20 years.I love the style of writing, the humour and the honesty.If you want to know more about Gods Word then I recommend this book.

Really enjoyed this book, read quite slowly to take it all in. It goes through the Bible, but in a new a refreshing way. Helped me 'make sense of life' just like it says on the cover. Would highly recommend for the final section on heaven and all we have to look forward to if you put your faith in Jesus

This book takes you through the Bible as if it is a journey and explains God’s relationship with His people through it. Loved the last section on Revelation, full of hope. No complicated language and a book that is easy to engage with.

This is a well written book that is perfect for small groups to help study life applications from the bible. Can also be used by an individual. I really liked the authors writing style, and the reflections taken from this book are good for teenagers and adults. This book has an endorsement from Bear Grylls printed on the front cover, which I think is pretty strong bragging rights.
