## Overview

Sherwood Pet Health Digestive Support Tablets combine freeze-dried premium papaya, pineapple enzymes, and a unique herbal blend to enhance digestive motility, reduce inflammation, and support immune health in small herbivores. With added B-vitamins to stimulate appetite and energy, these 100 all-natural tablets are a proven, veterinarian-trusted solution to prevent and manage GI stasis and digestive discomfort in rabbits and guinea pigs.

## Description

The digestive support tablet works in 3 very specific ways. First, it provides protein digestive enzymes (Bromelain and Papain) and a dose of high quality papaya that was freeze dried to preserve nutritional value. The papaya aids in protein digestion which minimizes the amount of protein that will enter the ceacum where bacterial fermentation of fiber occurs. Too much protein in the ceacum will raise the pH and support the rapid growth of unhealthy bacterial populations that cause bloat, G.I. stasis or other digestive problems. Second, it provides a full compliment of B-vitamins that are normally produced by healthy fermentation patterns. If these fermentation patterns are disrupted then B-vitamin production is reduced and this often leads to a loss of appetite and reduced energy levels. Proper levels of B-vitamins are necessary to maintain a healthy appetite. Third, it contains a unique blend of herbs that actually stimulate the lower digestive tract to naturally contract and relax in a rhythmic pattern to help optimize healthy fermentation patterns. This works great for rabbits and other small herbivores that are less mobile (don’t get enough exercise due to age or arthritis) or that simply have trouble with digestion (especially megacolon rabbits who lack the lower G.I. tract innervation necessary to stimulate muscle contraction). The herbs have been shown to directly trigger rhythmic muscle contraction/relaxation in lower rabbit digestive tract independent of nerve stimulation. IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS: Because of the strong flavors of the motility herbs (ginger, ginseng, szechuan peppercorn), your pet may at first resist showing interest. Try reading through the reviews for methods others have found work. Or leave one out overnight for them to explore on their own. Most pets grow to love these tablets.

Review: Lifesaver! (Literally) - I use this to prevent GI Stasis for my almost 7 year-old Lionhead Dwarf. This is my 4th bun, and I used papaya tablets from another company, which did not always help with stasis. This tablet however, is a game changer. I give my bun 1/2 tablet in the morning and 1/2 in the evening for prevention. (Some complained that their buns don't like the flavor, however my bunny liked it right away! It has a peppery smell, which he seems to like!) There are times when I need to increase the dosage when he is shedding and I notice his poop strung together with fur, so I will give him an additional tablet. But, it works!! It is a little expensive, but worth saving the life of your bunny! "An ounce of prevention, is worth a pound of cure!!"
Review: You need this if your rabbit has Stasis - This Papaya and banana enzyme digestive support is awesome! I’ve had to use it more than once when my bunnies go into stasis. Stasis is when they stop eating and pooping. It’s very serious and no time to waste. I keep it on hand at all times. For a full grown Tamuk bun I will give her about 5-6 smallest of syringes of unflavored baby mylicon drops first at least 3x’s a day. Don’t worry it’s not absorbed into their system. It’s lubricating their digestive tract to get the blockage moving. You can give them more if needed. Then 2X’s a day I crush the Papaya tablets with a small pestal and mortar and add enough water to make a very thin paste. If it’s too thick it won’t go in the syringe. (You can get plastic syringes (no needle) at a Walmart pharmacy for free.) Just let them know it’s for your sick bun. Just give it in small increments and make sure they are swallowing it each time. My buns really like the flavor and will lick their lips each time. At the end I put a little extra water to get all of it from the bowl. Then I put them in their exercise pen for a little while so they hopefully move around a bit. Make sure they have plenty of accessible water and hay so they can start to eat and drink when they want to. I keep up this routine until they are pooping and eating good again. Be very gentle as stasis is very painful even if they don’t show it. The instructions on the back of the bag are good to read. It’s easier to manage with 2 people. I also put the bun on a table top. It’s easier to administer that way. I have a vinyl mat on my washer machine and it’s taller than a regular table top. Which is easier. If they’ve never had a syringe feeding before you just have to slide the syringe in the side past the teeth and angled to the back of their throat. I will take my left hand and gently cover their eyes and to help hold their head steady ever so gently just when giving it to them. Let the other person pet them and talk sweet to them making sure that they don’t jump away. Once they are pooping again and eating it’s a good idea to get some bena bac from desertcart and follow the directions on the tube. The probiotics will help get their digestive tract back on track. I hope this helps someone else to save their bunny.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Ive had house rabbits for decades and have never seen peppercorns in food or treats. What good are they?**
A: When mixed in the right ratio the szechuan peppercorns, panax ginseng, and ginger stimulate the phasic muscle contractions in the cecum and lower digestive tract to promote healthy gut microflora fermentation patterns. This is especially helpful for megacolon rabbits.

**Q: I can not locate an expiration or manufacture date anywhere on the bag. Does anyone else know where the date is? I really want to verify this is fresh before giving any to my pets!**
A: The date is on the top of the bag on the backside. Ive seen it on the side along the seat also.

**Q: The description says these have a new banana flavor. So is it Papaya + Banana flavor, or is there a way to just order banana tablets somehow?**
A: They added the banana to appeal to even the most finicky critters. The papaya is an important component for digestive health as well. You can not order just the banana flavor. Both papaya and banana are in the ingredients list. It’s been a real life savor for my senior bunny, you will love what it does and your bunny will love then like treats. Highly recommended! To answer your question, no you can not order only a banana flavored tablet.

**Q: Are these suitable for young rabbits who are too young to eat normal fruits?**
A: If your young pet rabbit is struggling with stasis, and you have eliminated fruits, veggies, and pellets with grain/soy, then these tablets help improve the functionality of the gut to improve the microbiome and overall digestive health. It makes a real difference at reducing the frequency and severity of stasis... for all ages!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Needed these!
*by A***E on 2 September 2026*

My 6 year old rabbit loves these and they do the job. My vet recommended these since my rabbit had a hair ball and had to go under anesthesia to get it removed. I then got these and then had no issues. As time passed I actually forgot to buy more and forgot all about them. I recently re-ordered them since my now 9 year old rabbit has been having some digestive issues and running poops. once he started taking these again, no issues at all.
