I don't review many online purchases, but I HAD to write about this golf mat. I searched and researched all kinds of range mats for a couple of months and found all kinds of options, both cheap or expensive, but they were almost all those thin "fake grass" mats that do nothing to simulate golfing on grass. These thin mats give no feedback; whether you hit a perfect shot or hit it fat, the ball will still fly. The only real feedback in a fat shot is the pain you feel in your hands, wrists and arms.These gorilla mats do exactly what they advertise--you can hit down and through the ball the way you are supposed to do. And when you do, the thick mat absorbs the impact, allowing the ball to compress and fly, while not bruising your hands. These mats are more expensive than almost all the other mats I found, but it appears the extra cost will be well worth it for a thick, close-to-real, and well-contructed (and likely long-lasting) mat.It appears this is one of those "you get what you pay for" situations. Spend the extra money and get a mat that works!

Nice mat however the tee holes are cut dead center of the 3' sides. Nobody hits driver center stance, once you slide back to put the ball inside left (or right) instep your opposing foot is totally off the mat. Had to punch out more appropriate tee holes for driver or fairway wood.....other than that, nice mat.

I personally love how you can hit down on this firmly and it doesn't hurt your wrists/arms at all. The base pad adds great cushion. Whole mat seems incredibly durable. I will say that it feels definitely different that hitting on grass but you can take a divot.

Awesome mat … the only problem I have is that it slides slightly on my garage floor. I’ve added no slip tape . It’s helped!

This mat lives up the the hype...It allows me to really hit down on the ball with true life feel...

This was exactly what we needed. As advertised

I bought this mat to practice my golf swing in the house. The mat is very solid and provides a great surface for practice. Although pricey, it is of the quality I find in a good driving range with new mats. I’m sure it is also great to use outside, but I have a built in surface in the yard for that purpose. However, living in Seattle, it is too wet and cold to practice my swing in February outside. This mat is perfect and doesn’t move around to scratch the floor. The only downside to any mat is that it is much less forgiving than the ground when hitting fat. So as my husband says, ‘Then don’t hit fat!”
