Tumbleweed Pottery Original Chicken Cooker

MY DAUGHTER IS A SPOILED 61 YEAR OLD BRAT. SHE WANTED THIS LAST YEAR BUT I COULD NOT FIND IT. WELL I REALLY DID NOT KNOW WHAT SHE WANTED. SOOOOO HERE IS FOR THIS YEAR. SHE HAD A PHOTO FROM A MAGAZINE. I WENT TO AMAZON.COM LOOKED FOR "CHICKEN COOKER" AND WALAAA THERE IT WAS. I HAVE TO ADMIT THE CHICKEN IS REALLY GOOD COOKED THIS WAY. CAN I ADD, MY DAUGHTER IS NOT THE BEST COOK IN THE WORLD AS SHE IS IN THE BUSINESS WORLD. HOWEVER THIS CHICKEN DID HER WELL. WONDERFUL WONDERFUL

The easiest main course you've ever done with NO cleanup!!! The chicken comes out so tender, moist and full of flavor. Brown and crispy and beautiful all the way around! The pottery is attractive - I bring it directly to the table and we carve and listen to this - actually just pour gravy-juice from the container. And the bottom line - with just some water and soap, it cleans up without any effort. I have tried a Bud for the liquid - outstanding. I'm sure my favorite white wine will do same!! Shipped to my daughter's pronto - am so happy with this purchase!

I bought this to be first prize in a beer can chicken cookoff.When it arrived, I thought there must be some mistake. I paid the extra money to buy this "new" from the manufacturer, but the box looked like it had been stored outside in the desert for a decade. The packaging for the entire box is peeling and unevenly faded. There's a hand-written price sticker showing that the price is $24.95, not the $33 I paid for it.The cooker itself looks ok, not broken, but it is DUSTY. Again, leading me to believe this product has spent a lot of time outside and is no longer in new condition.I am really disappointed with Tumbleweed pottery. If you list a product as "new," that should include the packaging. This is supposed to be a prize, but instead looks like something I pulled out of a dumpster. I will let the winner decide whether I need to return this or not.I've taken a number of pictures of the packaging--I'm new to posting reviews, but if I can include some images, I will. Or at least I'll send them to Tumbleweed so they have an opportunity to make this right.

I am by no means a cook (I have trouble boiling water without scorching it), but this chicken cooker is easy to use. I immediately fixed a chicken the first day I had it, using Dr Pepper in the well. The next time I used cooking sherry. Both delivered delicious, tender, and moist chicken, even the white meat. I highly recommend it. Be sure to check the weight of the chicken and adjust the cooking time accordingly. The directions on the box are for a 3-3.5 lb. chicken.

Very convenient for roasting whole chickens. Chicken is very moist and stays moist, however, browning is uneven. Instructions state 3-4lb chicken, but have used a larger 8lb oven stuffer roaster. Came out great! Only concern is that pottery is not rich in color like the picture.

I never roasted chickens. They were always too greasy when roasted the 'traditional' way. With this cooker, I roast chickens regularly...its amazing what drips down. The chickens stays moist, and whatever you place in the well adds more flavor.The one thing to keep in mind..follow the directions and start in a cold oven. It is pottery and will crack if placed into a preheatedoven.

I already own this chicken cooker & am so pleased that I bought this one as a wedding gift for a niece who loves beer can chicken. With this product you do not have the nasty or hot can to remove with the same results. Clean up is a breeze & you can cook veggies at the same time with the chicken juices basting them through out the cooking time.

This product was ordered as a Christmas gift for my sister. When it arrived, the packing box was in pristine condition - not even a crunched corner - and well packed with bubble packs. Not so with the box containing the actual product. It looked like it had been hanging around in a warehouse somewhere for years; worn, crunched corners, a hole in the front of the box, a hole in the back of the box, edges worn down to bare cardboard. If this had been the last one on the shelf at a store, I wouldn't have purchased it. Fortunately, the product itself was fine. Regardless, I was very disappointed that a company would send something in this condition that's ordered in December and may very well be, and was, a Christmas gift.
