Defiance - PC

Now this seller, bless their heart, having to sell a game that a company like Trion could care less about their players. I can't say the same for this seller, they shipped this product nearly immediately after I purchased it. The 5 stars is for the seller, the barely 1 star is for this terrible game. He's a great seller, and fast shipping. I would recommend them for another purchase in the future.Defiance is an ok game. Being forced to play pvp in order to max level a character is a bit annoying to those not into pvp at all. After you complete all the rest of the pursuits, you'll be around 5500 without doing anything in pvp. PVP will allow you to max to 5900 since the pvp pursuits take up nearly 10% of the pursuit points to max a character. Been well over a year in F2P and they lack major content to keep maintaining the interest of the hardcore players with events, and the casual completionist's have fun with PVP, it's 1 sided and still very un-balanced, two weapons that are used, you cant block them, can't dodge them, and no matter what or how you believe you're pro, PVP on defiance will break your spirit. Trion's noob weapons are tremendously used like the cankers (little bugs that can't be killed, and can 2 shot all most instantly, and in some cases 1 shot you), and surge sniper rifles which stun, and take shields down to nothing instantly. PVP on defiance is completely useless, unless you have a team to aid in carrying you, prepare for a lot of eating dirt and cursing like a mad man (or woman) at your screen. Because some of the hackers (and I cannot stress this enough, when they can 1 shot you through terrain, buildings, and vehicles, it's hacking), and when you report them, TRION doesn't do anything to them. Trion's nothing more than a slew of lazy under paid programmers, or script kitties that endorse hacking apparently, because I haven't seen them do anything for pvp whatsoever. Trion's bottom line is money, so don't expect them take a hacker away from cheating, if they're making money, they're happy. If you're a fan of the show, this might ruin that experience for ever. I wouldn't say don't play it, but the show has really nothing to do with the surroundings, your character, or your pursuits, so don't let Trion fool you.Also since it's free to play, it tends to lag really bad at certain times during the day, more so now than it had been when it first launched as free to play. The lag is even worse in shadow war (PVP). They do reset the server twice a day, and takes upwards to 20-25 minutes for it to come back up. So prepare to curse a lot at your screen if you lag off and it takes 5 minutes to get back into the game due to the enormous que time. It's not my connection, having 50 mbps down, and 10 mbps up, it's their crap servers that cannot handle the traffic they claim to be able to handle. In all honesty, Trion's best games right now is Trove, and Archangel (basically a replacement to Rift). If you're into those type of games that is. Defiance the game is dying everyday. Play the game, purchase some of the DLC's, the vehicles do help in the beginning, they're generally a bit faster than the base 4 wheeler you gain when you first start and complete some missions. But don't be like me, and spend a hundred dollars or so on all the dlc's and some arkforge and get screwed in the end after realizing you "have too pvp in order to be 100% completed with the game". Trion doesn't deserve uber amounts of money anymore, they cannot fix their unbalanced broken PVP, or much of their content, they keep adding crap, but cannot address the problems that exist with their original content. The damned weapons in PVP don't actually scale correctly either. If you're a completion junkie, this game IS NOT for you, just saying.PVP is still very unbalanced well after a year of it being free too play, content is not thrilling to complete, the rewards are minimal compared to a lot of other games you've probably played in the past that would give buffs or equipment permanently as you progress, and the lag will make any person want to hurt many people physically. Hopefully you're experience with defiance is much more fruitful than mine had been. I've gave up on defiance, it's lost it's lackluster for me. I'm really not a fan of PVP, so my 5540 is the highest I'll get too. I would rather play Hawken than to endure another try hard hacker on Defiance that Trion will not do anything about. Have Fun.

The game is alot of fun for me at least. The Co Op nature of the game is great. I love not having to form groups and being able to "pitch in" for events and Arkfalls. It has some issues, but the dev's are working on those and there have been a lot of updates and patches so far.

They probably should have kept this in development longer but they didnt have much choice with the whole tv series companion release. The main story line was fun and interesting but I couldnt find much reason to play after. Graphics are nice and smooth but for a game that promoted customization of weapons, the customization system and items are not at all that great or in depth. I would say with a bit more content and variation of weapons and weapon mods it would be awesome

I really wanted this to be a good game. It isn't even an acceptable game. Save your money. I heard of problems with the servers so waited an additional two weeks before purchasing the game and trying to install it. First the installation setup was glitched....it accepted your logon and password and then states you were not authorized to play defiance. No clue what to do next except contact support...tried the support page and got a 404 error...then googled the msg and found they had screwed up a patch and I had to go to their home page and enter my game serial number. No problem did that and wow..it said I could now play...of course I first had to download a patch that took forever but what the heck patches are a part of the gaming industry. Dl/d and installed the patch then went to play. Went through long cutscenes to create character...Made my choices and then it comes back with Defiance servers were unavailable try again later. Okay....not happy with wasted time but things happen. Tried again later...same result...hello are the servers ever on line or do we have sim city all over again? Bottom line, this game is trash. I'm really sorry I bought it and I will not buy anything else made by them again. Don't do as I did, choose a game that is actually playable.

ehh this game is okie. I am not much for first person shooter games but the price was right so thought to give it a try. It is kinda of confusing as there isn't much direction once game play starts. Have only played it a few times so far, maybe it will grow on a person.
