This book gave me the guidance on how to let go, why I need to let go and painted the picture for me with words. Highly recommend

A very relatable book, I really enjoyed reading it

Wow - I bought this book in January and picked it up at just the right moment! It resonated with everything I was feeling. You have to read this book; it's truly the best eye-opener I've had in years.

This is an excellent book for anyone who needs to let go of someone they love but really don't want to. It lets you look at the reality of your situation, as difficult as that might be, and understand that it is time for you to move forward, both for you and the other person. Life changes things change and we shouldn't fight against this. I've never cried so hard as when I was reading this book, because it's difficult to accept that this love is coming to an end, despite anything anyone may do. I still don't know how I'm going to do this, letting go of my partner of 25 years, untangling them from my life to move on without them. But I know I must try-somehow, someway if ever I am to have peace within myself. I will read this book probably 100 times to keep strength to let go. I've never been more sad and relived to hear the words in this book.

I have not finished reading the book yet, but I am compelled to write a review. This is the first time I've even heard of this lady. The title spoke to me because I said this to a narcissist two years ago, so I was curious to what she had to say. OMG, I am so glad I did and I'm still away from him. Some of her wording is very direct concerning your feelings and how to move forward in this dark world. It's not just people you need to let go, it's anything that's taking your life in the wrong direction. I'm only at chapter 10!

Amazing, thoughtful and well written book, she put our feelings into words. I just ordered another copy since I wrote all over the other book. I look forward to seeing more books by her, thanks!

Nothing really insightful. I did cry a few times because I could relate to some of it. I wish it had some recommendations.

This book was a very easy read. I found it very helpful, and would recommend that everybody read it at some point. Many of the chapters may not apply to you directly, because the book is trying to cover a broader sense of what it is trying to teach. So some of the chapters may not apply to you, and others might speak to you tremendously. I am going to be recommending this to a few people who I know could really use it personally. There are a couple chapters in it that I plan to reread and revisit regularly.I actually got this in relation to my relationship with my children as they grow up. Some of it relates to romantic relationships, so while the circumstances did not directly apply to my situation, the methods of dealing with Loss, grief, and disappointment in how relationships develop overtime, was still very helpful as a parent. This book was also surprisingly effective for my dealing with cutting off a toxic relationship with a close family member. Even if the book often relates to romantic relationships, the building blocks can be used for all types. I would also recommend this book for anyone who has ever had a bad relationship with a friend, family member, or lover, or is just needing help understanding themselves a little better.
