Little to no warmth seems to be retained
After reading the rave reviews, I was willing to try this product out on behalf of my 10-year old Boxer. I personally don't notice any retained warmth on the mat after he gets up from it, nor is he drawn to laying on the mat like some of the other reviews mentioned. However, it makes for a nice blanket to cover him up with on particularly cold days when he comes in shivering from going outside, and it must do something, because he'll hang out under there all day until food time rolls around. It does wash fairly easily, but overall, I think I would've rather just spent $50 on a dog bed that kept him off the cold floor completely.

Really works!
Perfect size and shape to put in a bed or by itself. My cat loves it.

They work great
I have about a dozen of these now. Started with my old arthritic dog. She loved it so much she would carry it from room to room. So I bought one for every room. Then the cats fell in love, so I bought the cats their own. Now I'm outfitting the stray cats that have made my home their home. They aren't super cushioned but I just put them on top of old blankets for the cushion.
