Waterway Plastics 806105502698 Cartridge Filter & 2 Hp 2 Speed Pump System

The pool place I frequent slammed this cartridge filter system . They were so wrong . It is the easiest and best system I have ever used . I have a 15' x 30' Oval Above Ground Pool . I've used various DE filters . Always had issues and always had DE sand pushing through the lines . This has a great two speed motor , the low speed is so much stronger than my previous two speed 100 HP motor . I ran the system from start up this year in Southern New England weather conditions . The pool is attacked by clouds of thick yellow pine pollen and pine needles . It also gets hit with tiny seed pine cones . This filter handled it with no effort . Now the best part . After about two months the water got a little cloudy . I shut it down bleed off the pressure, unscrewed the top and pulled out the cartridge. Hosed it down for about 10 minutes with a regular garden hose and nozzle . Popped it back in and within a half day everything was crystal clear again . No DE blow back , no pressure washing the tubes and loosing the screws that hold the filter tubes , no finding the wrenches and unscrewing the filter base . Easy peezy folks . I've had several back surgeries and did about 90% off the cleaning myself . If this continues , I figure only one more rinse out will be needed before I close out in September. I didn't get any discounts or freebies for my review and I purchased on Amazon .

I bought this to replace a similar pump and filter system. I was very impressed at the speed of delivery, but I prefer accuracy over speed. The system was missing the small filter container that connects directly to the pump. I received the lid and basket, but no basket holder. I dont know what that part is called, but thankfully I had one from my old set up that fit. Packaging was not as good as it should be to protect such an expensive product. There was a broken plastic tab that holds the large filer in the base but it didnt interfere with functions of the pump or filter. As of now the pump and filter are working great, but if you dont have spare parts to replace missing items, you may be out of luck. Customer service is "unavailable" at this time which is another thing to consider. A generous 2 stars for speed and function, but without my own spare parts, it would not be functioning at all.

It seems to be working now after a pump replacement initially. The first pump sent was already broke an obnoxiously loud. Customer service was FANTASTIC about getting a replacement right away. The new on seems to be functioning properly now, but haven't really had it long enough to make sure it stays good. The new one did make a difference immediately with the water flow and power to the return jet though, so the first one was definitely bad.

Replaced old Waterway unit with this one. More compact and the built in pressure gauge is nice. Would recommend this unit!
