The Azor AP 321 aims at one thing and it accomplishes it spectacularly: full blown heavy metal distortion. I've lined this up with several of my other distortion pedals, such as the Tube Screamer, and this pedal far exceeds them in terms of distortion level and bass boost. In fact, when the distortion control is on its highest, it is probably more than the most hard core heavy metal guitarist would want. The extreme/classic toggle switch changes the character of the pedal completely, to the point that it's almost like a two in one. I have several Azor pedals and the construction quality and sound on all are outstanding.
