Reminds me of something from Apple. Well thought out. Very cool. I was using the Polder neck timer and was frustrated that they kept breaking. The Timestick is much more durable. This is very easy to set. The keypad is in a sealed rubber front panel so it won't get water in it. The buttons are still raised and give tactile feedback so you know when you push one. The LCD is under a sealed clear plastic. The battery hatch is also sealed but still easy to get in to.The neck lanyard is much better than the string that polder gives you. I've got white and black Timesticks and my wife has a pink one. I went through 3 polder units in one year ($45) so this is definitely worth the price ($25). Great stopwatch and timer. Switches automatically to the clock function when not in use. I like the lock keypad function. The bar graph is cool but only marginally useful. Sound volume is about right. Good strong magnet too. The packaging was nice. Makes a quality gift I think.

This is the greatest timer!!! I always have it with me and it performs flawlessly. It even arrived earlier than expected. It fits in the palm of my hand and enables me to operate and program times with one hand. The case is very sturdy, not flimsy at all like some other timers. The alarm is loud enough for me to hear all the way from my back bedroom which is on the opposite side of the house from the kitchen, but I probably won't even need it because I will be carrying it in my pocket or around my neck with the handy lanyard. I love this!!! ThermoWorks products are professionally made and I will always recommend them. Next purchases include ChefAlarm and the lollipop thermometer.

Works fine... buttons are a little dodgey but workable. Firmware/programming design is a bit stilted so it's not exactly intuitive. You'll have to read the wee buttons and think about what you want to do each time you use it which is a bit lame for something with such a basic task. Oh... you want to count down three minutes? You'll need to hit the M button which stands for Mode. Then press 3-0-0 and start. If you pause or finish the countdown, it goes back to time and now you have to do mode. So wouldn't it be easier to just assume you want a countdown and let you start typing numbers? That is the major task of a timer! And the numbers don't do anything in time mode so they really went out of their way to make a bad user interface.But it's a timer, not a cell phone so... 4 stars.

With 69 positive reviews I thought this would be a good solution for my mother in the kitchen, as often she goes into another room in the house to watch tv or read while something is in the oven for an hour or more. But this stick does NOT have a lighted "screen" and the key pad numbers are so difficult to push that it takes a lot of pressure and a lot of tries. Without a lighted screen it is impossible to see, Thumbs down down down.

This timer is hateful to use. I'd give it one star except it can actually work as a timer, sort of.Things I hate:1. It automatically changes mode from timer to clock when I put it away. I don't need another clock. I need a timer. Just be a timer. Every time. Oh, then you need to remember how to make it become a timer again.2. The buttons are too hard to press. Almost comically so. Pressing a button is like breaking a chicken bone. And I'm a *very* physically fit adult male. I'd think this would be pretty frustrating to use for an older person with arthritic hands.The orange color is nice, and the apparent waterproofness of the keypad is nifty, but this was just unpleasant.Using it literally made my wife angry.

This is a nice timer, but the buttons and screen are very small. We use it for a countdown timer for baking, the direct way that you enter the countdown time is very efficient. But with the buttons so small, you almost have to push them in with your fingernails and the numbers are a little tricky to read. The display always toggles back to show the time when the timer is done, which is ok if you use it as a clock. We use it only as a timer so the clock function just makes an extra button push to get back to the timer. It has a magnet on the back which is great to keep it up on the fridge, and you can wear it around your neck if you walk around the house while waiting for the banana bread to be done.

First of all, I really like this timer. It is easy to use, and as the description says, I felt I could throw the instructions away after the first use. I like having the attached cord because I can monitor the baking time left when I head to the basement to do laundry or watch TV. Indeed, the cord helps me keep track of the timer itself, compared to my other timer that often gets left in odd places and cannot be located the next time it is needed because I took it with me when I wandered off to attend to other tasks while something is baking.I also like the lock option so that after locking it I don't have to worry about accidentally bumping buttons while it travels around the house with me.it also has a magnet on the back so that I can attach it to my fridge when not using it.Now, for the unexpected use...One morning this week I had to leave the house a couple of hours before my teenager needed to get up, and would not be able to call her to make sure she was up. I set the timer to go off at the time I normally call, and hung the cord on her doorknob. Worked like a charm, because she had to get out of bed to find it and turn it off.

I love the look and feel of this timer! Very high quality! It comes with a really nice lanyard so that I can wear it around my neck or I can attach it to my refrigerator as it comes with a strong magnet on the back. I've found it easy to use and like that I can program it with one hand. I purchased the orange TimeStick but it was a hard choice since they come in so many cool colors. It comes in really nice quality packaging so I wouldn't hesitate to give this as a gift. I love it and so would my friends and family. It was a great purchase. I highly recommend this timer!
