Both sides are finished equally, so either side can be used as a serving or cutting surface. Checks and splits are considered part of the natural beauty of the wood. If checking is present, the checks are filled with natural unfiltered Beeswax tinted with food safe color and finished by hand rubbing with Coconut oil.
