Homedics Memory Foam Cluster Pillow - 26" x 20" (2 pk.)

I've been purchasing products through Amazon Prime for a long time, and this is my first review on anything that I have ever purchased. For some reason I felt compelled to give my opinion since I have always depended on other opinions throughout my ordering history. These pillows do come with a strong chemical smell, however, do not let the negative reviews detour you from the purchase as the odor does disappear within about 3 days. Aside from this, these pillows are outstanding, they hold their shape, and are extremely comfortable. I was a little hesitant at first, but after a few days, I couldn't be happier with the purchase and plan on replacing all of my pillows with these. Nothing negative to say here. 😀

So far so good, just waiting for the smell to subside. A card was included in the package instructing for it to be aired out before use. Will update review once used.Update: 2/13/2015: I waited longer to use this pillow than was necessary because I paired it with a memory foam pillow of another brand who took MUCH longer to air out for the smell. So far with (almost) a week of use, this foam "cluster" setup is quite a bit different than standard memory foam. it does NOT immediately bounce back as other memory foam does. I can't expect to roll my head over and have the section I just left to magically puff back up. Though, had I thought about it beforehand it would have been obvious, this is a memory foam "cluster" pillow! Clusters of memory foam rather than 1 carved block. IS THIS A NEGATIVE? Well, so far NO, no it's not! It doesn't immediately mold back like a carved memory foam piece sure, but the clusters do. Middle of the night I wake up, if I need some more "fluff" I just flip the pillow. The pillow itself should be "fluffed" regularly, this will allow more air into the clusters of memory foam and allow them to expand again quicker than before.To fluff: Pinch the opposite corners of the pillow, push your hands together and pull apart. Repeat for the other 2 corners. This allows the clusters more air to allow them to gather there air quicker and puff back into place. This procedure is NOT necessary for standard memory foam pillows; a carved block shouldn't be "fluffed" but this setup? Yes, give them the proper fluffing they need and SO FAR these pillows have been amazing! I sleep with multiple pillows stacked at night(even memory foam) and between the multiple memory foam pillows I've ordered to try; this particular pillow is my TOP pillow, the one I feel most comfortable putting my head on. I've updated my review to add another star for the sheer wonderful feeling this pillow is giving me as my top pillow each night so far. I will update this review in a couple months after more vigorous use! In the meantime I can only speak for the first week and as long as I remember to fluff(which... except for "block" pillows(i.e. carved memory foam and such) this is something you should be doing anyway!) this pillow has been wonderful so far, given the price and the wonderful feel I personally HIGHLY recommend... so far. In a few months I'll have a better idea, so in the meantime I hope my short-term review helps people ^_^

Thought I was ordering a memory foam pillow only to discover that the memory foam is all in small pieces, not one solid unit. Very uncomfortable! Nearly impossible to get it into a comfortable configuration for sleep. Followed the instructions to knead it to soften - this made no difference in the feel. Couldn't return it since I'd already tried to sleep on it. Only thing it's good for, in my opinion, is using it as a back rest in bed for watching TV or sitting on as a cushion. Unless you like a rock firm pillow, I wouldn't recommend that you buy this product.

Okay so, I did read the reviews on the bit of smell to these pillows. and ignored. It is true. There is an odd musty smell to them. What is causing this smell? I do not know. I will say that if you have patience (and Fabreze...), and you put them outside (Fabrezed) for a few nice days, it does get better. It is still apparent, but much better. They are a firm pillow, so that is good if you are looking for that. It would be good for the merchant to see what is causing this smell. It is quite off putting. BUT, they are nice firm pillows, and I do believe the smell will be gone soon. I will check back in soon for a confirmation and follow up review. If I don't, write me and I will give you an update. These are great for decoration (shams) but I can't use them for sleeping. too thick and too hard.

I LOVE this pillow, using it right now just delivered. There's a slight smell but its from man made materials, its kinda organic as well but NOT mildew thankfully my pillows came sealed air tight, it took a few seconds of punching to poof them up though. It's worth the buy and very comfy. I have it ontop of my other pillow. It's cooler temp wise and conforms to my head very nicely.

I've had these for almost a year now and they're holding their shape pretty well. To fluff them slightly don't pull at them. I did this at first because I'm used to down pillows but with these something inside felt like it was shredding apart so instead now I just sort of punch 'em a bit from all sides and they get right back to full. I can't stand flattening pillows and these have held up well.The only downside if you live somewhere that gets hot in the summer, these will suffocate your head! I noticed I started waking up with my hair nearly soaked in sweat and realized it was the pillow. I use high TC cotton pillowcases but that didn't help. For the rest of the summer I had to lay a towel across them and that solved it.Overall they are a very nice, firm and very comfy pillow.

I just went through my first night with these. The smell that is talked about is there (as it is with all memory foam) but I agree it out yesterday with some febreeze and it mostly went away. The smell is in no way overpowering or terrible, when sleeping on it I barely noticed it. The pillows are a little firm for my taste, but that is not the fault of the pillow. They feel great for hugging and leaning up against, overall great experience.
