Works good when it stays attached. The magnets are so weak that I glued the filter to the lens after a careful cleaning. The filter is very easily scratched too, so handle with extra care. It does the job though, reflection and glare is reduced.

Magnets were pitiful. Lens scratched first time it fell off. Money wasted.

I had to knock off two stars because this clips the corners of the video with the bezel of the filter. My CR-500 has such a wide field of view that the corners of the filter block the very edges of the recording. It's not that much of a loss but it annoys me.The picture is better with the filter then without it, but not nearly as much as the demo photograph (big surprise there).The best thing about the filter is that is obscures the view of the camera lens from the outside of the car. I have an un-tinted windshield on my truck, and I observed that people get a little spooked when they realize that there is a camera pointing at them. There are less double takes now that the CR-500 is not as immediately recognizable as a camera.It held on to the camera just fine, but I wrapped the edge with a strip of electrical tape to hide the chrome ring on the CR-500, this helps increase the stealth of the camera and when I pull the camera off the mount It allows the filter to stay on the camera when I toss it in my bag. Keeping the filter on the camera protects the camera lens from scratches and smudges when not in the car.If the CR-500 came with a filter that clipped on the edge of the camera or was threaded, for a more solid connection and was wider then the body of the camera so the edges of the recording does not get clipped, I would have given it 5 stars.

You can definitely see the difference with this filter. I wish it would snap on, I have dropped it a couple times when I took the camera inside. It has magnets around the filter lens, it does stay secure but falls off easily in your hand. Never lost it in the car!

I received it very quickly and installed it without difficulty (I have a large vehicle and there was just enough cord to reach the secondary power outlet between the bucket seats). The camera can hardly be seen from outside, the way it tucks neatly under the rear view mirror. My only criticism is that the English instructions are not clear on how to reset the memory, how often to do it, or even why do it when the camera records over the oldest files anyway. I haven't viewed any files yet, but I'm looking forward to good results.

It likes to come off the camera with the lightest touch, but hold's secure during normal driving. It does cut out some of the reflections on the windshield but there are still some of the reflections there, but definitely cuts down on them. Also with the lens on I notice a vignette effect in the corners of the screen. It doesn't affect it much, but is kind of annoying, I didn't notice it on any of the video's i watched online before ordering. But all in all it does it's job and I would buy it again.

After purchasing this item a few weeks ago, I can honestly say that it is a product that does as advertised.When I purchased the FineVu FULL HD I noticed immediately that the black dashboard of my car put a huge glare on the windshield. This showed up very clearly on my videos, and made it a bit difficult to see things on the lower part of the windshield. I went ahead and purchased this product and am very satisfied. The lens is magnetic, and therefore just "pops" right on. This is very convenient, and made install a breeze (however it is not too difficult to accidentally take it off when removing your dash camera from its stand). The video afterwards has about 85-90% less glare. There is some, but its so minuscule that you barely even notice it. Quite simply, it works!

The CR-500HD is an excellent dash camera but sometimes the windshield reflections become problematic. The polarizing filter does a great job of solving the problem albeit at a very high cost. If you haven't already received your CR-500HD and tested it, don't purchase this filter right away; you might not need it. I, in some cases, prefer the quality of the video without this filter. In many situations it improves things but not in all. Make sure you remove it for nighttime recording.
