No more tossing the last beans to get to a fresh bag!
I use 2lbs a month of pricey whole bean Kenya coffee (delivered in 2 bags from Peets) and used to keep the beans in a French gasket sealed glass storage jar after opening a bag. Near the end of two weeks the last beans from the bag would taste staler and the pourover CO2 bloom would be noticeably diminished. Often I would toss an ounce plus of beans just to get to the fresh bag. I don't waste money like that any more because this canister really does noticeably keep your beans from going stale. The last beans are still good now and you can confirm it visually from the vigorous pourover bloom. A brilliant and practical product. Also, the satisfying sounds of the puck plunger are a great addition to the morning coffeemaking ritual ;)

High-End Solid Stainless Steel Canister - Easily Fits the Standard Starbucks Bag of Ground Coffee
This canister has a real nice high-end solid feel to it. We got the black version and the finish is gorgeous, so much so we just leave it out on our counter all day. It has a large rubber seal on the bottom so it doesn't mark up your counters or move / slip around.Long story short decided to bite the bullet on this - even though it was kind of pricey - as we just tend to purchase the pre-ground up coffee in the bags (yeah probably should get a grinder some day) as it just speeds up things in the morning. We had been trying to fully squeeze the air out of the retail bag (typically starbucks) so the remaining coffee in the bag is mostly airtight and then we store it in the freezer - none of that seems to work very well - usually about half way through the bag the coffee would change to a bitter flavor and we'd end up throwing away 1/3 - 1/2 of the bag. 📏Haha after studying up - looks like the freezer way is not an ideal way - and there are probably other ways to store coffee better - but just letting you know about our process 🤷Held off on writing the review until we could verify that this airtight canister made a difference and it really has. The seal part has been easy to use (even easy enough for our teenagers to consistently do) and we've fully used a full bag of coffee without it going bitter...woo hoo! ☕Basically this canister has done exactly what we needed / wanted and am quite happy about it. Plus it looks so nice that we just leave it on the counter saving a trip to the freezer...one less thing to do in the morning and I still get my coffee - well you have sold me on that! 😁Haha it may take several full bags of coffee before we make up for the price - but this is just easier to use - it looks nice - and we bought the spoon that fits perfectly inside on top of the seal so no longer trying to find a clean spoon / scoop (another small headache solved)...so this really just works for us.Did NOT get paid or receive anything free for this review. Really just like the product and think it was well worth the few (several) bucks we threw at it, especially when combined with the compact scoop (have reviewed it too) 🙂

Simply great coffee been and ground coffee storage item
This simple, clever device is great for keeping both beans and GROUND COFFEE fresh.. Our (brand shall remain nameless) coffee grinder broke and we decided to give ground coffee a try before replacing the grinder. We found that this product really keeps coffee fresh through its simple, but ingenious, method of forcing air out of the container. I was so delighted with this product that I bought five more as gifts for relatives and friends.Note: when pushing down on air-eliminating plunging part, push gently; otherwise, if you are storing ground beans, you will end up with a face full of coffee grounds (as I learned) - to the amusement of some. 😀

Great product for what it's intended
After using the product for around a month, I have to say that I very much enjoy the consistency it affords. Typically, opening a bag of coffee means that the first few pots are great and nearing the end of the week the grinds get stale as well as the coffee. This keeps the grinds fresh for around 2 weeks in my experience which is plenty of time to finish a bag and onto the next. Highly recommend.

It is vacuum sealed
Air tight and vacuum sealed are two different things. This is vacuum sealed. There is no air left inside the container once you plunge the air out of the container. Easy to plunge, easy to open, and airtight lid fits on top of everything. So you get the plunger to make the contents vacuum sealed, which expels the air; next is the airtight lid that fits on top. I ordered the teal. Love it!

Good quality and functional
I like keeping the air out as much as possible for the things that I store. If you take out the air of your Ziplock bags before putting them in the fridge for reasons other than space, you'd like this canister for sure. It's well made (good quality) and does what it's supposed to do well.

It Does The Job
For a split second, I had my doubts. The lid, while secure, is extremely easy to remove. The trick to this canister being airtight lies in an interior "plunger" which you push down to the level of the product - in my case ground coffee. No matter how much is in the canister, no air gets to it. You can hear the air being displaced as you press it downward. Way cool.

The only way to store your beans
This is my third unit now. I bought a small one to start with which holds about 250g of beans but thats an expensive way to buy, so I bought a medium which holds 500g and I buy 1k bags, put 500g into the Airscape and 500g into a less expensive 500g airtight container which stays full until its decanted into the Airscape when the first 500g is used up.The beans are kept totally free of oxidising air and stay as fresh as when the carton is first opened. Its such a simple idea and clever. Regular airtight containers are only efficient when full up and as you use thee beans, they are replaced with air and become useless at preventing air from damaging the coffee flavours on offer. You simply pour your beans into the Airscape jar, shake them level and then push the inner lid into the jar and you hear the reassuring hissing sound of the air being pushed out. Even when half empty the bit of the jar containing the beans remains completely free of air. Basically, the jar is always full up. It seems a bit expensive for a jar but it is beautifull made with high precision so that no air can leak in and the container always remains rigid so its always airtight.I'm not a coffee officinado but I do get paranoid about keeping my coffee fresh. A while back I had an opened bag of quality beans which I didn't store correctly, they went off tasted dreadful and I ended up chucking £35 of beans. I then bought an air tight container from Amazon which was OK but I began to realise that it was half full of beans and half full of air so it was not an ideal situation. I bit the bullit and bought the Airscape. Haven't looked back. I drink mainly decaff during the day and Italian Expresso in the morning. A 500g decaff lasts me a couple of weeks and its freshness seems to last easily that time. I use the caff coffee less and a kilo bag lasts a couple of months but it remains forever fresh in the Airscape. What's expensive is cheap in the long run and I haven't had to chuck any beans in ages. As you may gather, I think its a really great item and worth every penny.

Very good container
This is the second Airscape container I've bought - the other was a larger one. They are quite expensive for what they are, but I do love the size, durable build, colour and reassuring operation of the plunger. Airscape containers don't create a vacuum of course, but they do expel a lot of air to help the contents stay fresher for longer. I use mine specifically to store ground coffee in. It works well.

Sturdy airtight container
Since I bought this, I've also bought a second, small one. They are quite expensive for what they are, but I do love the size, durable build, colour and reassuring operation of the plunger. The Airscape container don't create a vacuum of course, but it does expel a lot of air to help the contents stay fresher for longer. I use mine to store coffee beans and dip into it daily for my morning coffee. It works well.
