As someone involved in youth education, I was eager to try Glo Germ Gel, and it absolutely exceeded my expectations. This is, without a doubt, the most effective and engaging way to teach children—and specifically our group of Cub Scouts—about proper handwashing and cross-contamination. The process is simple: apply a tiny drop of the gel (which is invisible in normal light) to hands, rub it in, and then let the kids go about a typical activity (shaking hands, touching doorknobs, passing out snacks). When we brought out the black light, the lesson became instantly clear, tangible, and fun. The "glowing germs" were everywhere, illustrating just how easily and quickly germs travel from person to person and surface to surface. The Scouts were fascinated and, more importantly, genuinely motivated to go back and wash their hands thoroughly under the black light to ensure every last speck of glow was gone. The gel itself washes off easily with soap and water and a little scrubbing, and the 8 ounce bottle goes a very long way—you only need a pea-sized amount per person.
