and realize the key to an excellent grilled burger is something the size of a hockey ...
If you're not the type to stack burgers in an attempt to get a thick burger, and realize the key to an excellent grilled burger is something the size of a hockey puck, first seared and then slow cooked to perfection - you're among friends, Kitchen Asset has us in mind. This thing will take anything you put into it - we tried hog meat with lots of lard (our own farm-raised pigs), kinda poured in the goo, overnight it hardened to a nice solid burger, ready for the grill. However, I really bought it because wifey likes to make a ball-o-meat-burgers, while I like a big, even, flat (and thick) burger for the grill. The ultimate is a "stuffed" burger, put the seasons on the INSIDE, then sear the outside, slow cook and lock in the flavorful juices. I already knew, looking over all the choices, I needed a WIDE and THICK form. While a little wider, 4.5" would be better for shrinkage, this thickness is actually pretty close to the same size as I hand make them on a plate, flattening, flipping, flattening, etc. The smaller diameter models are too small (after cooking) for the average bun - so don't kid yourself, if a little ball of dried out burger is your liking - buy the other guys. Seriously, next time you hand form a burger, measure it - a real burger is big enough to cover the bun, this is the correct size - remember grill shrinkage.I've always been a fan of packing cheese, salsa, seasonings, etc., INSIDE the burger. Finally a system, and big enough system to allow for some really awesome, gourmet grilling at the ranch. Next time you're gonna do "burgers on the grill" - finally a great idea for unforgettable gourmet grilled delight.

Great tool for homemade burgers!
I find it so hard to make a right size patty for my burgers and this press perfectly solves the problem. I did a thorough research before purchasing this particular press and I'm quite content with my choice. First of all, it makes a perfect size patty that nicely fits a standard bun and that was the main criteria to be considered. After grilling you get a decent 4 inch burger. Secondly, it makes round shaped burgers. Strange enough but market is flooded with some funny hexagon, pentagon, rectangular and whatever shaped burger presses. Maybe I sound somewhat conservative but the proper burger should be round...otherwise it's time to start looking for hexagon buns. Dimpler! That dimple in the middle makes a huge difference when you cook your burger preventing it from bulging out. It does stay perfectly flat and it makes it easier to stack your toppings knowing that nothing will slide sideways after the first bite. The press is deep enough so you can easily regulate the thickness of your burger simply by putting less filling and it's perfect for stuffed burgers. The mold itself is well made and nicely designed to be conveniently stored in the freezer. It's very easy to operate and clean afterwards. It is also very versatile. Frozen patties can be paced in a ziploc bag that makes your press available for other duties. One of the main advantages of silicone material that it can be used for baking as well. I baked some brownies in it and it worked out really well. Someone can simply utilize it as a container to freeze portions of cooked meals such as soup or beef chili. It personally helps me a lot during busy weeks when I have no time for cooking.I highly recommend this product and planning to purchase another one for my Dad who appreciates good burgers!

A very useful kitchen asset
A very useful mold to have in your kitchen, as actually there a lot of things you can do with it, and only one place to store. I got this press not only for burgers, but for baking as well. The homemade burgers turn out amazingly delicious, evenly shaped, and what’s important - are very easy to cook. It takes about 2lb of meat to fill this mold completely. I use less meat, because I like my patties thinner. Also I use this mold to cook brownies. They come out in perfect round shapes, which make them look even more delicious.I highly recommend this awesome kitchen asset to everyone, especially to people who don’t like to cook (like me), because it makes the whole process easier and much more enjoyable!

Highly recommended
This is the best thing to make a larger number of burgers in a short time. I separate the two sides so I can make 12 at a time. This is been great for making pre-made hamburger patties to freeze so my dad and brothers can pull and them out and just barbecue the burgers with no hassle. It's also super easy to clean.

Not a necessity but very handy to have especially when making stuffed burgers. Next time I won't fill it up all the way because the " were a tad thick.
