Aquila 10U Nylgut Tenor Ukulele String Set

Okay, so I bought these strings in hopes of trying to get the most out of my ukulele. I bought my uke in Hawaii and brought it back with me to my home on the mainland. The uke I picked sounded great already. However, I was just looking to try to get the MOST out of it that I could, if it was ever possible. I saw reviews for these and just impulsively bought them. When I got them, I realized they looked a lot like strings the uke came with. So, I looked up my uke and it turns out that my uke came with the Aquila strings. Well! I have to say, it's great having backup strings, at least. I haven't used the new strings yet, but I can say for sure that these are great sounding strings, they were the reason I chose the uke that I did while in HI. So, get them!

At first I was tightening them to tune, after a couple days it wasn’t working so I tightened each string to the next higher note. I then left my ukulele like that for two days, retuned to proper note, sound is so rich, their great strings, I’m thinking of buying that woven G note and try that.

I've been playing and collecting ukuleles since spring of 2010. Good news: these Aquila strings are on most new ukuleles. Bad news: These Aquila strings are NOT standard on some others. I was able to take off the old ones and install these in less than half-hour. (You can get a tutorial to do anything on YouTube!) They will stretch and de-tune for a few days, but once tuned, they sound, and just perform, great. Good price, great product. Order extra to keep on hand.

These strings are darn good... once they start being good. One thing i really like is that they are all nylgut, including the C string. With other sets of strings this is usually bound so it stands out, but these are all white and beautiful. after the first few days you won't need to tune much at all. but for those first couple of day (the first most especially) your uke will be nearly unplayable. i suggest tuning about 5 notes high on each string then waiting a few hours then tune it again and again and again... until it holds... The sound is clear rich and consistent. These strings will upgrade a mediocre uke to a down right good one.

I have multiple Ukuleles and these are the best strings for all of them. I have an Oscar Schmidt OU4 tenor and it is perfect for it. I bought some of these for an alto as well and they worked fine for that as well. The strings are high quality and I've never had one break. They take about a week to hold a solid tune without tuning every hour, but this is natural with ukulele strings. You can't go wrong with these strings.

The best for my ukes hands down. I have this brand in one permutation or another from this tan set to the black to the red on all my ukes and they are the difference between mediocre sound and luscious pro sounding instruments. They last long and it does not take as long for them to start staying in tune. Very pleased and would gladly suggest this brand to any player. Just make sure they are not shop worn or too old as that is the only way they might not live up to all the hype.

I have Aquila strings on a Tenor ukulele now. I have regular nylon strings on a Soprano ukulele. The difference is night and day. I don't need to wait for this product to arrive before writing a review, I know from experience that Aquila strings are the best. I have a new Tenor ukulele in shipment now, and I ordered these strings for it in advance. If you want the best strings on your ukulele, I recommend these.

A string popped on my all-laminate Caramel zebrawood tenor, and when I was choosing replacement strings I definitely wanted Aquilas and something that would add some highs to the tone as it sounded a little flat with the stock strings. Yes, they make a uke sound "brighter", if you don't want or need that then try the Aquila Supernylguts as they mainly add alot of mids; if you think your uke sounds a bit dull though then get these. Takes about a week to start holding a tuning well.

Simply the best for my instrument and my style of playing. I've been using them for 20 years and have compared them to many other strings. To me they are the best if you want to sound bright and warm, between nylon and fluorcarbon, between very warm and very bright. I love the brand and the company!
