Talk about a unique desk! This walnut burl slab is rich and beautiful! It had severe drying checks (cracks) due to it's unusual grain structure. Instead of doing the same old song and dance, I decided to liven this piece up with a turquoise color pop. It has turquoise inlay throughout the majority of the drying checks. This gives it a super cool look! The top has been planed flat, sanded smooth and finished in an oil and satin poly combination. The finish allows the piece to be used without fear of scratching the surface or having a drink sweat and penetrate the wood. There are some checks not fully filled in, but that's just part of its character. The back edge has been cut square to allow positioning close to the wall & the facade displays the natural edge in all of its glory. This piece would be well suited as a laptop/ computer desk, workstation, writing desk, large console table, foyer table, etc. The top is fixed to four steel hairpin legs that have also been painted in a turquoise paint to match the inlay. If you're looking for something functional with a TON of character and playful attitude...here it is! Measures: 39 1/8" L x 17" to 20 3/4" D x 28" H. The top itself is a solid 2 1/8" thick.
