My dog is obsessed with chasing lasers and I was tired of buying the cheap pet store laser that I had to press the button the entire time to get the thing to work. The green LED's were confusing to me, because I've never known the purpose of green LED's so I did some reading and found that it works great outdoors, mostly for hunters because animals can't see green light. But I shined it into the woods behind our house and the beam spot was great at 100ft or better. Flashlight function is bright outside. UV is strong enough to spot scorpions at night. laser pointer keeps the cats happy.
